Sienna Plantation Golf Club

About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Greens
Clumps of fescue have taken over the greens and made them un-puttable.
Could be really good
Playing in the middle of March I was expecting there to be better course conditions. Some things i can live with, but the totality of circumstances made for some frustrating conditions. Drainage in some areas was terrible which left muddy sections all around the green. This made some normally good shots terrible as your ball would stop right in the mud. This was compounded by having sprinkles actively on while playing for about 5 holes on the course. These are things i would expect to be worked out during the slower season, but faced it throughout the round. Overall pace of play was great but there was not any course management as multiple groups of people tried to jump in on the course inbetween groups. With those things in mind slight fixes would make this a very enjoyable course especially for the price.
Most greens have something other than greens grass
Stuck behind a foursome that was playing a 4 man scramble. One was learning. They didn’t offer let our threesome play through. No active Marshall on the course. This course is back to bottom of the list.
Sad
Not sure what else to say about this place other than it’s sad. Great layout and some wonderful holes. The greens are completely cooked with more weeds than grass and dead spots throughout. The fairways a okay but far from lush. There’s no cart service on the course for beverages. The pace of play was over 6 hours as we had 7 groups backed up over two holes at one point with the Marshall doing absolutely nothing to speed up play. We skipped those two holes and the course was wide open after that so we know it was simply a couple of foursomes backing up the entire course. On 14 we had a group on the green and 3 groups waiting on the tee. The driving range is basically nothing but weeds and sand. It’s like a bunker. The bunkers on the course are in sad shape as well. Wish this was a better review but it is what it is. Great layout, everything else has been allowed to fall apart.
Not worth it
The course is in terrible conditions. There is almost no point in putting because the greens are so bad. It’s sad that the owners don’t take care of the property. I’ve only recently started playing here and heard it’s been this way for years. Also be aware sometimes the sprinklers are on, see attached. This was on a Fri at noon, we couldn’t finish the back nine and no refund was provided.
Great layout
Everything was great but felt a bit rushed for my young daughter that is trying to improve her game.
Jan 7th
The course was nice. It would be nice if there was cart service throughout the round and some ball cleaning options at the tee box.
Ratings can be misleading
Individual ratings for different concepts can be relatively high but overall ratings may be lower because not every rated concept is worth the same.
Tee boxes and fairways were ok. The course people we met were friendly. But the GREENS WERE AWFUL -- close to un-puttable. If putting is important to you...
In addition, a team of plumbers was working on the sprinkler system and we got showered at some holes here and there.
Just awful
5 hour round (saw the marshall once). 7 minute tee times. Course in terrible shape. No beverage/food cart. Driving range was in bad shape. Bucket of small balls was $9. No way I will drive out of town to play this course again.
Greens
Greens were in the best shape since when I came back in early November! (Last played Sienna about 4 weeks ago and greens were’t nearly as good. Of course the other day I only had 1 hole where I three putted!)
Ehhh
Sprinklers on the back nine turned on as soon as my group made the turned. Completely flooded the fairways and a few greens. No refund or anything given for the inconvenience.
The course was ok
The layout is excellent. Challenging when it needed to be but the course condition wasn’t great. I’m guessing it was just the time of the year but fairways, tee boxes and greens need a lot of help.
SLOW PLAY
We teed off at 12:50 at 5 PM, we had completed 13 holes. The front nine took approximately two hours and 45 minutes to play never saw Marshall.
