Riverside Golf Course

About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Bill
Fairway grass is extremely thin, most lies are on dirt , not grass.
The greens are in excellent condition, that is why I play at Riverside
Course In Good Shape, Welcoming Staff, Good Overall Experience
Booked late morning, mid-week round for a twosome using GolfNow. Were paired with another twosome. Followed threesome, with foursome behind us. We were never pushed nor held up.
Course was full but didn't seem crowded, with round taking four hours, ten minutes. Conditions were fine: greens were nice (true but slow), fairways were thin but very playable, tee boxes had been cut and traps manicured. The three staff members we encountered (Reggie, Danny and Tom) all went above-and-beyond in making us feel welcome and appreciated. Taking into consideration the overall amount of play, plus increased costs, we typically experience in this part of Florida during the "high season" Riverside is a reasonable alternative and worth the trip. We can recommend this course and hope to be able to return soon.
Much improved!
The last time playing this course was three years when they putting in irrigation system so there was a lot of brown. But now with system in a lot of green with the greens in very good shape. Nice layout too.
Very Dry Course
The course needs water/rain badly. Tee boxes and fairways void of much grass on many of the holes. 4 or 5 were just ok. A lot of dead grass and dirt in the "rough". Greens were ok grass wise, but very slow. No one on the course so the 2 of us played in about 3 hours or so, letting one single play through. The gentleman in the pro shop was very welcoming.
Nice course
The course conditions are nice for this time of the year. The speed of play could be a bit better. This is aggravated by having single players between foursomes. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this course.
Very playable
Avoid the water hazards and this course is very score able
Nice greens
The course was in better condition than in past years. fairways are thin but the greens are very nice. It's a fun course to play.
Good value
Great friendly informative staff in pro shop and starter. Greens were fairly fast with fairways like most in Florida green and brown. Sand traps well taken care of. Exactly four hours to play 18. Definitely will play again
Good course
No driving range is a minus. Greens were good staff was friendly but I don’t u destined why the have discount passes for U.S citizens and not Canadians
