Love this course
I love playing this course. It was very busy for a Monday but the pace of play was still good. This course has challenge, interesting layout, and long, but very playable if you take your time and play strategically. I shot a 91 which is great for me and hubby shot a 86.
Always A Great Place
Play this course a few times a month, always fun and challenging. Course is always in good condition. For your money such a good time. Sometimes the younger guy at the counter can be a little rude and short but the rest of the staff is really nice. I’ll always start my weekly round checking tee times here.
Avg place to go, green not well maintained.
Pretty avg place to go. Some of the greens are bumpy and in need of major work. Putting is hard due to green quality. I would opt to other private courses in the area, for the same amount of money for green fees.
Greens still in winter shape, course layout is ridiculous
Not my first time playing here, but figured I’d give it one more shot. The price on Golf Now was great, which influenced my decision. The greens still feel as if they are recovering from a harsh winter…which it was not. The biggest complaint is the course layout and signage. Playing from the white tees, there are NO course outlines (map/picture) and without a course guide there’s no way to know where the multitude of hazards are. One hole on the back nine has 3 hazards that cross the entire fairway. Several other holes completely drain right to left regardless of where you hit the ball. Hit a perfect drive on any of these and they certainly won’t hold and will drain left and usually into a hazard. I play at least once per week all around the Raleigh area and with so many other great courses nearby, I will not be booking future rounds here. Very disappointing course.
Eagle Ridge Review
The course conditions were above average. The course has lots of slopes so choose your shots wisely. The greens were not super fast, but not slow. Friendly clubhouse staff and bar staff. If you have a mishit, you will likely have a blind approach shot.
Fred Smith company doing FSC things
Tee boxes are in shambles. Why wear out the whole thing and not maintain? These courses are busy and I get that. If you're gong to be teeing off out of a sandbox, why not leaving the markers in one wore out spot and work on the rest of it? No, let the entire things get obliterated. Greens are full of weeds. Riverwood is the same. I've never seen these courses this bad. What are they doing?
VERY long from blue tees
If you haven't played ER for a while, you should note that they appear to have altered the distances for each tee markers in the last 4 years. Two of us in our group who hadn't played there in a few years found that the blue tees were FAR longer than they used to be, and it appears that several of the previous blue tee boxes were now whites. This made several of the holes either unreachable or pretty close to it, including 1, 3, 5, 9, 12, and 18. The problem is that the white tees are less than 6000 yards, so you feel like you have to play the blues until you realize how much difference that actually makes. Please consider adding combo tees. The course was in fine shape for this time of year (beginning to green up), and the greens were very fast and smooth. Careful when getting above the hole! The course staff was great (except the virtually unresponsive drink cart girl). One request.... Please add more holes on the putting green. Three isn't enough. This might be a seasonal thing as the greens are just starting to grow in, but there were several people having to share holes.
Excellent course in every way
One of the best I've played, and relatively low price. Take note: there are some winding streams/hazards that cut through just about every other fairway, so if you can't get the ball in the air you may not like it! Quite chilly too.
Nice course, always a challenge
Eagle Ridge is a nice course with plenty of holes that can challenge you. March in NC is always iffy so temp was nice but grass was still dormant but not too muddy. Bring your driver A game, you will need it to score well on this course.
