Meadowlands Golf Club

About
Meadowlands Golf Club sits at the heart of the Piedmont Triad, making it accessible for golfers from Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point. Designed by Hale Irwin, the course is a favorite among locals. There are some challenging holes where you'll have to contend with strategically placed bunkers and treacherous water hazards. Mature trees also line the narrow fairways. There is plenty of variety throughout the golf course and you can expect to use every club in your bag. Both your distance and your shot-placement skills will be put to the test. Meadowlands is a golf course that is as scenic as it is challenging though with an idyllic setting of forested hills that are dotted with sparkling blue lakes and streams. In addition to the course, there is also a short game area and a practice putting green at Meadowlands Golf Club.

Overall great shape
Course is in really good shape, except for the bunkers.
Very odd as it’s clear they’re putting in work to maintain the course generally speaking, but the bunkers are borderline unplayable. Rock hard (as in they don’t even leave footprints when walking in them) despite no recent rain.
Our group loves this course, and we knew when booking online that it had just been aerated and with late winter conditions would still be wet on many holes. That was ok with us because they had an aeration specialthat gives you a hot dog and $5 off a future round. We had an interesting experience in the pro shop where after booking online, the course had no record of our 2pm tee time. No problem, we were given the 220 time and all is good.. The rounds were shown as $35 online but we were corrected that it was $36. Ok no problem, I had a voucher for $100 that wanted to apply. Now is where things got strange, using the voucher clearly annoyed the pro shop guy who at first didn’t want to accept the voucher but then did once I told him is was worth cash value which left a balance of $36 which we paid. So we are all good right? Remember this whole thing goes back to the aeration special, but the pro shop guy wouldn’t give us the hotdog or the $5 because we paid the way we did. He seemed annoyed during our whole interaction and would not budge on this. It was pretty hilarious. Not sure that guys cut out for working a customer facing role. Anyway we got our own hotdogs and played the soggy course and sandy greens and had a good time.
Good Job
Very nice course that flies under the radar. Nice putting green, driving range, and chipping green well set up. Concrete cart paths with superb conditions all the way around. This course is medium in difficulty with some hard and some easy holes. I really think one of the best in area. I will definitely be back.
Conditions
To be fair , the fairways are giod. as far as the greens go,, the tee boxes are in better shape. .
More sand on the greens than in the traps. In its current condition, I wouldnt recommend play at any price.
must play if in area
Course is in great shape, almost all green.
Fairways are nice and greens even nicer.
There was a back up on carts due to covid19 but staff worked hard to get them in and re-cleaned.
Disappointed
Was a nice course but was very disappointed that the greens were heavily covered with sand. No one told us any of this. I feel that we also shouldve been charged less because of this.
We understand that these things need to be done. But a heads up would have been appreciated.
Putting was pretty much impossible.
Poor communication
I have played meadowlands many times through the years. This is the first time I was unhappy with my round of golf. When we were about to hit our approach shots on the 1st hole we noticed that the greens were sanded. No one told us. Not the course or Golf Now. In the past, Golf Now would post that information. At least the course pro shop would communicate this information. Nothing....why?

Hot and wet
We just had a big storm. The course does not drain well. I believe the superintendent did set the tee boxes up for wet play since the ball was not traveling far. It was just one of those days. Too wet to play but to hot hot to.
must play
great course, only Hale Irwin designed course in the triad,
Beautiful quiet course
Loved this course! so quiet and not overcrowded like so many in the area. Would definitely play here again!
Excellent
I gave this course and staff all 5s simply because they don't have 6s ad an option. The management graciously navigated us through even though they were playing a member scramble at the same time. We never had to wait. Exceptional course and service!
great course
course is in great shape and it's fun to play the nice layout, lots of lakes
