Cypress at Woodmont Country Club
About
The Cypress Course at Woodmont Country Club in Tamarac is named after the mature trees that line the fairways and frame the views from the elevated tees. The course measures 7,043 yards and features undulating greens that are a challenge too with carefully shaped contours that are subtle but tricky. It is a golf course that requires not only distance, but also accuracy and a good course management.

Not for the price
If the price was much less, this would be a good practice course, as that is why I booked it. The practice green was a bit rough, carts were pretty beat, nice chipping warm up area though. Tee boxes weren’t in best of conditions, greens rolled decently slow with some rough spots on most. Fairways seemed to be in pretty good shape, however. There was basically a train of people spaced very closely, so pace was terribly slow. The twosome I played with were really awesome and knew to ask about playing the pines for our back 9 and there was no one on it, the greens were in better condition and the tee boxes so it made the round much better. The Marshall was very friendly and advisable as this was my first time playing here.
Good course
Played it once before and did not remember. The course was in good condition and greens were rolling well. Played whites which was a little short, but still fun.
Worth the money
My favorite out of the courses I’ve played the past few weeks on the lower end of the price spectrum. It was the best kept course and the friendliest staff.
Greens were very bad shape. Dead spots everywhere. Tee boxes were very rough. Most grass on the tee boxes were dead.
Nice track, but will not play on a weekend again
The course was in great shape, greens are fast and undulated and I did master the greens to keep my score down, but the slow pace of play, waiting 10 plus minutes a shot took a toll on my game and the others I played with. A 5 hour and 20 minute round was brutal. Next time I play here it will only be on a weekday and I hope the pace of play will be better then.
Staff
Marshall’s accelerated the pace of play well past our group who are bogey golfers. Did not enjoy the day
Great place, interesting layout
It is a nice course to play. All a bit brown, worn out and dry as almost all 5 courses I played this week, but interesting layout, nice staff and people around there. Wonderful potato skins in the restaurant showing the Masters on many screens.
Good Course
We played a combination of the back 9 of the Cypress Course and the 9 of the Pines course. Both courses are in good condition. The tee boxes are in ok condition. The fairways are in better condition. The layout at Woodmont is challenging and fun. I highly recommend Woodmont.
Friendliest staff in South Fla
Love the course and the staff are terrific . They come right to your car and load your clubs within 2 minutes of your arrival !
If you are a good golfer... play somewhere else
This course is just OK.... the greens are in lousy shape, lots of bald spots, the fairways are just average. The use old style gas carts and all the seats are ripped.... The course lacks a lot of maintenance and upgrades. It is cheep and if you are learning to play it is just fine. If you are an established golfer you will be very disappointed....
Carlos
Golf course need some TLC, great staff. Need better sings system for directions from hole to holes.
Definitely I'll play back again.
Greens
Course was in pretty good condition except the greens had multiple spots of burnt or diseased grass.
