Prairie Falls Golf Club

About
Prairie Falls Golf Club opened as a nine-hole course in 1999 and the second nine was added in 2000. Though each nine has a unique character, they combine seamlessly to create a fair test. It's an ideal course for high handicappers learning the game but it's not an easy course by any means. The front nine is a player friendly parkland layout with wide and forgiving fairways. You won't be penalized if you're slightly errant. You'll have the opportunity to build up your score on the front nine, putting you in a good position for facing the tougher back nine where there is less room for error. Prairie Falls Golf Club'a back has a links-style design with narrow fairways and tricky greens with subtle breaks. It's a challenging but fair course and if played smartly there are some birdie opportunities available.

What a surprise
This was a surprise to see such a great place and super facility as well. I would have a hard time finding fault with the course at all but signs would be nice. I have a hard time understanding why courses that are so great do not spend the extra $40 here and there to put a sign up making finding the next hole easier for folks who don't live on the course or are members. We got lost a few times, but other than that minor issue, the place is very nice, with some great holes to want to come back and play again with course knowledge this time
Fun Course to play
This is a fun course to play. I have played this course several times this summer. The course amenities are very nice with a new club house and other attached businesses. The people are always welcoming. The t blocks, fairway's and greens were in good shape. The only disappointment is the bunkers. Not only is there little to no sand but there is plenty of rock. I have nice clubs and do not like having to hit out of rock. I will continue to recommend the course but I will let others know the about the bunkers.
Happy with the new prairie falls golf course. Pace of play was terrible which caused one golfer to be angry wanting my group to allow the two ladies playing behind us to hit into us and then he wanted to be able to hit into us and the ladies, he felt this would resolve the issue ?
Otherwise good day.
Great Value
Course in excellent condition, golf carts clean and smooth running, play a little slow due to a foursome of novices ahead of us. We played thru at a par 3 and the field was wide open!
Overall, we will play Prairie Falls again.
Nice course fun to play
We very much enjoyed playing the course we played on Thursday liked it so well went back and played it again Friday..
We’re visiting from the Seattle area and like traveling and playing different golf courses..
One major flaw
I live in the neighborhood and have wanted to play this course for quite a while. My son was visiting, so I booked a 7:30 tee time on Labor Day weekend. As a little background, I've been playing golf since I was 12, so for 50 years. I'm 'old school' in terms of not currently using a range finder or golf watch. I've always used the 100, 150 and 200yd markers along with the yardage that used to be noted on sprinkler heads. At the very least I expected for there to be white 150 yd stakes. I finally started to find the red, white and blue markers near the center of the fairway, but it didn't feel as though they were on every hole.
Additionally, the IGA used to place tee markers on every tee which included a small brass plate that had the yardage to center of green engraved in it. Made quick yardage estimates easy (especially on par 3's). Not sure when those started to disappear, but not a fan.
Lastly, and this was a huge deal for me (probably won't be back) but what the heck is the deal with there essentially being gravel in the traps? I had considered trying to find a league to play in and also enjoy participating in fun tourneys, but there's NO WAY I'm hitting out of those traps. On the few times I hit into them on this outing, I just scooped the ball out of the trap with the rake, took a drop next to the trap and hit onto the green. Can't imaging trashing my clubs by hitting out of that 'sand'.
Nice Course
Had a great time playing Prairie Falls. Is it the best course you will play in the area? No. But it does challenge you to play a variety of shots. Really don’t need to hit driver. Wish that the tee boxes were more level, and the bunkers sand in them. Course was otherwise in great shape. The off course amenities were really nice. There isn’t a driving range, but they have simulator bays that they let us hit in to loosen up before our round.
Lowe course review
Everything was pretty perfect except for the bunkers. They are never raked and often times the "sand" feels like dirt.....
Very nice course
Super nice course. Staff is very very nice. I love the electric cart with gps! Can't beat it for the price.
Best value around
Great overall conditions, some greens need the summer heat to improve. Staff very friendly. The club house was clean and impressive. Took my family for a Father’s Day round. Great time.
Beautiful Course
Lots of changes in 2 years! The new hotel/restaurant/pro shop is a welcome addition. The new carts have gps screens. And the course is in beautiful condition. Busy day and was happy that pace of play was on point. Also happy with the food and drink selection in the restaurant and that the cart person made several rounds in the afternoon. Great experience, we’ll be back!
Cold but enjoyable
Weather was a little chilly but the course was fun. Greens are in great shape, especially for this early in the season.
Conditions
The course is in good condition for this time of year..
