Handicap friendly
Your drive in is surrounded by huge cedars and pines and the ample parking lot leads you to the pro shop where your view of the mountains and the course below is breathtaking. I was met by a very enthusiastic female assistant who guided me to the driving range. Lots of room and a putting green right beside it but the best feature was a chipping green and sand bunkers beside the putting green. But it was the number of tee boxes that really impressed me. All handicaps are welcome at Pheasant Glen!
Top of My List
After my first time playing at Pheasant Glen, I can't wait to go back. From the time we arrived until the time we left, all 3 of us had smiles from ear to ear (ok, maybe a few scowls of anguish from bad shots). The woman in the Pro Shop was cordial and inviting and you could tell she was smiling even under a mask. We warmed up on the large putting green for 10 minutes and then our round was underway. The conditions were on the puddle side of wet and a few fairway lies had to be moved do to seasonal standing water but the greens ran great. The highlight of this round for me was that the Glen 9 (front) feels completely different than the Pines 9 (back). Doglegs, downhills, uphills, tiered greens, lots of water, solid bunkering. Hole 8 has the most spectacular vista that I've experienced in golf. Hole 9 is a par 5 with an elevated green over a creek. This course forced some creative shots for me which I really enjoyed. Pace was bang on at 4 hours, made it in just before sundown. We will be back again and again for years to come.
Great staff and course
We had a 3 day tourney there with 40 guys most from out of town. The Pheasant Glen bus picked us up from our hotel and drove us back after the golf was done. excellent service throughout the tournament.
Championship Golf with a view
The best greens, conditions, views, staff, practice facility, deck, pace of play and members. This course has held many BC and Canadian championships and will host the 2020 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship.
DESTINATION COURSE THAT BEGS A RETURN VISIT
A HIDDEN GEM ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF QUALICHUM. THIS BEAUTIFULLY MANICURED COURSE HAS MANY SIGNATURE HOLES THAT CREATE MEMORIES FOR ALL GOLFER LEVELS . THE PRACTICE FACILITY , PRO SHOP AND CLUBHOUSE ARE ALL FIRST CLASS. THE " GLEN " HAS HOSTED SEVERAL PROVINCIAL AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. COMBINE EVERYTHING ABOVE WITH CONSISTENT FRIENDLY SERVICE AND YOU HAVE A WINNER. DON'T TAKE MY WORD, TRY FOR YOURSELF
Get away with friends
Third time we have gone to pheasant glen. 24 old school buddies there for 4 days. We started the first year by going to a different coures each day, but do whole tournament at pheasant glen now after first year as the are so accommodating and facilitates are first rate. Best greens in the area.
A must visit!
A great course! Pick a tee that suits your game as there is a tee for everyone. Pace of pay was great as well was the staff, both proshop and restaurant. Good price. Don't miss it.
Pheasant Glen a must stop
If you are on the Island and don't play Pheasant Glen, then you definitely missed a good one. Come and play where management cares about the membership and the playing conditions. A hidden Gem, has already hosted the BC Amateur, Canadian Mid Amt, the Canadian Amt, and will be hosting the Canadian Senior Amt soon. Golf Canada (formerly RCGA) keeps going back, what is keeping you away. Perfect greens, great par 3's, a good mix of par 4's, some spectacular par 5's and a friendly staff on the comfortable Deck for a great end to the round.
The course to play!
This course is a true gem. Slightly hidden away in a beautiful interval this course is in excellent condition. Every hole offers a fair challenge with a few tough holes to challenge you down the stretch. There should be nothing about this course you won’t enjoy. First choice in the Qualicum area.
Last minute tee time
This course i think is probably in the best shape of any on Vancouver Island, the fairways are in good condition given the amount of rain we have had over the winter and the greens are absolutely phenomenal, no bumps or damaged areas and the speeds are around a 12/13 which for March is great but come summer? - wow look out!
This is by far my favourite course )played off the blue tees) on Vancouver Island.
Best experience
You will be surprised, Great practice and warmup facility, nicely stocked Pro-shop, friendly and accommodating staff, Cold beer and great deck for after golf, and a fantastic golf course with 5 sets of tees and perfect greens, so pick your challenge from shorter and easier, or Longer (7000yds) and very challenging All at a price that won't hurt the wallet.
If you haven't been to Pheasant Glen, you are missing out on a great course and a great experience. Everyone on Vancouver Island knows about this, do you?
Small Town Feel
Treated us like we were members and long time friends. extremely friendly. food was great and the beers were cold. The course was in great shape and the views were spectacular.
Wow!
As your drive through a pine forest you can't imagine what lies ahead. The course is a mixture of valley and forest with views of a mountain in the background with fairways and greens that are mint. A real test from the tips and tees for every golfer, Pheasant Glen is a beautiful walk with nature abound at every hole. The staff is courteous and the food is excellent, highly recommended!
