The Rise Golf Club

About
The Rise Golf Club is situated 400 meters above Okanagan Lake, providing stunning views of the water and surrounding valley. Fred Couples paired up with Gene Bates to design the course, skillfully manipulating fairway width, landing area design, and hazard placement in order to make a golf course that both a seasoned professional could enjoy as well as a high handicapper. The landscape's natural wetlands, including Moose Pond on the 12th hole, were carefully preserved and incorporated into the design. The par-3 15th hole is the course's trademark. This hole plays from an elevated tee that sits 100 feet above the green, which is also framed by a large pond. Opened in 2008, The Rise Golf Club is one of the area's newest but it has quickly become a local favorite.

Rip off and locals not welcome
Worst experience and locals are not welcome. Friends had a discount card, but wouldn’t honour it because they didn’t have the card physical even though they could see on their system they had purchased it. The early season rate is $140+tax which is crazy because you drive up into through a gravel road, the club drop off system very inconvenient allow at least an extra 10 mins to get your clubs from your car to the cart, then the gps in the cart is actually dangerous we had to back up steep hills several times because the cart said we were in restricted areas even though we on the cart path, restrooms are not all open and some seem to have plumbing issues and the restaurant is actually the halfway house. Complained to the manager about the gps dangerous cart and restroom inoperable and I said they should not be charging the rates for all the hiccups that we encountered and he said sorry but not sorry then don’t bother coming back.
Well worth the visit!
The Rise has not necessarily developed a good reputation over the years it has been open, but that is going to change. We had a group of 7 golfers ranging from 7-20 in handicap. All of us found the course challenging but fair, great condition, good pace of play and good variety of holes. They are just about to start construction of a clubhouse that will have a view of the whole world, which will put it in line with any course in the area. I would highly recommend a visit.
Stunning test of golf
Beautiful course with challenging tee shot's and hard fast greens. I think when they have a club house and driving range it will be up there with some of the top clubs in BC.
rates
this is a great course ,the one thing they need to do is drop the rates ,the course has no club house and no restaurant ,I feel there rates are far to high, twighlight rate is $79 much to high
Altitude Sickness. (thats a good thing)
Gem!
Pay the money,
Bring some extra balls and play this course whenever you can!
Found a wicked local rate on thursdays. (gotta show the creds) Lucky to live close by and plays the old layout, then the new layout, the old club/shack, then the temp tent. And hopefully this spring when i push all the way up the hill. I will find a beauty clubhouse!
Great course. The views are breathless. The 17th green, standing 150yrds out...... STOP, Look, and just say nothing...... just...... you gotta see it.
Ive played this baby about 20 times, and i think i finally can play smart around this place. It seems to trick you into hitting that driver off the cliff and try and find it later. Id say 5 times you wont hit a driver off a par 4. just lay, GIR it, 2 putt, smirnoff ice and move on. haha.
Looking forward to more rounds this season at The Rise. The story is fun about Fred Couples. So ask someone to tell you about the first 4 holes.
4 stars until the clubhouse is done. Then we will see.
Late season play good price!!
Luv this course. Awesome views, great, interesting layout. Lots of tee choices. Check yardages against your home course . As some holes from white are short ( 300 yards or so) so may opt for black tees. Good carts, great clubhouse food.
I usually hunt for specials as mid season prices not always in my budget.
Great experience
The course was in excellent condition and very interesting to play with the large number of blind shots. The blind shots weren't really a problem as the "pro tips" available on the included gps were very helpful. We did have both carts in our group die on us which caused us to be delayed and the gps units themselves didn't always function all that well. There was a difference between the gps on each cart as to the distances to the green etc. overall it was a pleasure playing the course but the gps units could use upgrading.
Beautiful views
Excellent course, challenging fairways & greens. You need to keep your focus on the golf and not the scenery. Worth the trip up the hill
beautiful scenery ,excellent fairways.
Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course ,some of the greens a bit soggy, but had rain previous few days and not enough sun to dry out the greens but we will return!
Great Course
Have played many times and always enjoy the course at The Rise.
Always a fun challenge
I have played this course at least 8 times each season and I simply love everything about this course. The setting in magnificent, the course have bite and yet reward good golf shots. Couple of blind holes on the back 9 but apart from those few holes this is an absolute must when visiting Vernon
Unfinished business.
This course is a long way from being complete. No driving range no club house. Old carts and gps system. Two garbage cans on whole course. Zero service at check in. Did not get a score card until after 2nd hole and only because a grounds keeper went by and he got me one.
The course is loaded with completely blind shots and even if you hit it straight the severe slope on fairways makes finding your ball a chore. They charge for a full service course and this is far from that.
Beautiful views
Enjoyed our round of golf immensely. Course in great shape and favorable for the golfer.
Great views and good track
The course for the most part was in good shape, despite the long hot weather spell the area has been in. Greens were reasonably soft and very smooth/tricky, and the fairways very playable. Staff was very friendly, and informative.
The only poor element of the course were the bunkers, our group found them to be very hard and with too much large grain in them, making shots around greens difficult and debris on the greens a problem.
Hard to believe people $85 -$99 /round to play here
We got in on a golf now fire sale the morning of play...basically half price. We were worried that the course might be too posh for us.
The course is located up a narrow winding road and the Club house is a trailer.
The parking lot is roughly graveled. The whole place has the feel of a far over-reaching "executive" development that ran out of money. The road in is strewn with abandoned real estate development
We were the only people on the course at 1 pm. and had at least a 45 minute gap on anyone ahead of us. I think that there were 2 groups of 2 behind us.
The course is very difficult with almost all tees having to carry lost ball sage. I felt like a PGA player in that I saw very few of my drives land. May as well as hit them and turn away.
I could follow them a general direction and then they would consistently disappear behind a hill and roll to where ever that particular hill would take it.
There are many holes where you have no clear idea where the green is until you are 150 yds away. There were many shots from bottom of gullys. You make the shot with the concept that the green was in that general direction ( GPS would say just was 200 yds away) so the same shot could end up on the green or lost.
The slope from the women's tees is at 135 ... par 72 and only 5269 yds. Can't say that we weren't warned. My wife will not go back to this course.
They have spectacular views of mountains, trees and lakes. All the staff was very pleasant. They had the time as there were so few people at the facility. Probably more staff than golfers.
The course is charging too much for what they can deliver. They are keeping a premium rate but I can't imagine this business model working.
Amazing Views
The Rise is a very scenic course with wonderful views of the lake and valley below. Lots of elevation changes on many holes. There are a couple of holes with blind shots. Very enjoyable. If you pick the right tee box for your ability, it is a very fair test of golf.
great course
A must play in the area
Greens were quick and true
Great views
Only negative is no driving range but this was close to perfect
Get's better the more times you play
Awesome views, no 2 holes the same, #11 is tough. Will definitely play again. Nice having GPS on carts.
Play smart
Have played here before, leave the driver in the bag on most holes, a premium is put on being in the fairway and playing smart, greens were in very good shape.
spectacular location
the whites are easier than the reds. A few too many blind shots. If you're not sure keep left on most par 4 holes.
