NOT COMING BACK TO TILDEN
I Played serveral course last month and I would say that PACE OF PLAY AND PRICE IS WHAT killed Tilden for me should I be on the course 5 almost 6 hours for a round of Golf the answer is No Never saw a marshall staff was friendly in pro shop range was nice ball quality was ok some balls looked wore out Price no way im coming back to just sit around and wait to hit the ball I think they need way better spacing spread them out and always have a marshall out there Everyday if you get alots of play on course its common sense Im going 1 star because of Price and Pace not coming back
Manager
We wanted to pay extra to have our own cart. The manager would not let us do that. I don’t understand if a single player came on he’d be able to use his own cart. We wanted to pay so we can have our own extra cart I was playing with a guy that was 300 pounds plus it was very uncomfortable to sit in the cart with him.
Tilden
Great track. Would recommend getting a cart. Walking really slows down the pace of play as the front 9 is very hilly. Fortunately its a beautiful scene up on the hill with majestic nature, so not the worst place to be stuck waiting to hit. This seems to be the go to track for most Berkeley area residents, so it is typically busy in my experiences here.
It’s Okay
I say that they’ve done some cleaning up and mowed a lot of the tall rough. It’s better and close to very good. I just don’t agree with the fees and cart fees and $10 deposit for cart key. Overall, not bad.
Would it kill you to upgrade the ball washers?
I think this course makes enough money that they could do a complete upgrade of all the ball washers. I don't think that's too much to ask. Also the 100 and 150 yardage markers should be repainted. Other than that it's a great place to play golf.
Pretty good conditions but the pace of play will make you fall asleep
I have never, in all my time of playing experienced a round of golf quite as slow as this. 3 hours had passed and we barely finished the 8th hole. I asked for a rain check and they gave it to me but the guy in the shop told me "this is the new pace of play." Essentially saying that they let people take forever and do nothing about pace of play. They have an entire staff to enforce pace of play and do literally nothing. If you are paying good hard-earned money to play a game that you enjoy, this is not the place for you. They seem to relish in the idea that their course is overwhelmed by slow players.
Tilden
What an amazing layout you wouldn’t even know you were in the bay area you think you’re in the high country somewhere very well taken care of a hidden gem
This course should be close until it dry.
Let people play right now is permanently ruining this course. There is no fairway but mud and water. You tearing the fair just by walking on it.
Course with beautiful view
The course itself is beautiful as it sits in a regional park. But because of the rainy weather in California, it is too muddy to walk. The green and tee box need maintenance as well.by the way, french fries are great which comes from the cafe on the hill at hole 10th.
Wet Day
Walked the course very challenging. Like the challenges of the course - hillside lies and difficult pin placements
Tilden
Good pace and not overly crowded. Course is up and down
Terrific in every way except for pace of play
Tilden is amazing for a public course, however their approach to monitoring pace of play is to ignore that completely. Zero course marshal presence on the day I was there. Not acceptable in a very early AM tee time!
Warm and Sunny Afternoon
Great day to play. Most fairways will have some muddy areas. The ball off the drive does produce some carry even in winter. Putting greens are some of the most challenging in the Bay Area. Come early and utalize the chipping and putting area and hit some range balls , too. If you choose to walk then bring your legs. Best to stretch real good before taking on the walk. Over alll the course is awesome place to play.
