From the practice green you can see parts of over half the holes on the front nine. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/15/2017
No Marshall, no timing kept, no mowing of ruff
If you’re looking for a challenge with an unkept course and people starting early and taking their time without a Marshall to govern, look no further
Been in better shape
I’ve played this course several times, but not in the past 6 months. The conditions have gone way downhill. It’s unfortunate, as it used to be a really nice course. I’m not sure if the reasoning behind just neglecting the course conditions, but it’s now behind all of the other courses in Prince William county for course conditions.
Great day of Spring Golf
Play on Sunday 4/13/25. Greens were in perfect shape. Fairways were wet due to the recent rain, but in good condition. Despite the course being busy, the pace was smooth and steady.
Slow play, good course conditions
Teed off at noon, finished at 5pm. We were a twosome behind a foursome so we expected to be slow.
By hole 3 the foursome ahead of us was already a hole behind the group in front of them(another foursome) It was cart path only which exacerbated the slow pace but they had no clue how to play golf with no regard for any other golfers.
They played the black tees- not a chance any of them broke 120!
Averaged 5-6 practice swings per shot
Changed clubs back and forth, often having to walk back to cart to get
Left carts parked 50 yards behind them and had to walk back multiple times to get….
In Sweden you are required to pass a competency test before you can play on a golf course….not a bad idea?
The course was in great shape for early spring! Fairways still dormant but lush, greens are beautiful, many of the bunkers are getting new sand put in, staff was friendly and attentive as always ( including Bogey the pup).
Wonderful course. Slow pace
Wonderful course. Greens in great shape. Fairways nice. Need to work on and in traps. Need to put drinking water on course pace of play very slow. Need to spread out the tee times more. Would recommend the course.
Challenging almost link style course
We played in early February, it was cold with icy fairways and greens. Even so, the course is a fair challenge to intermediate and advanced golfers. Probably a frustrating round for beginning golfers. We had a great round and will return again. Staff is great.
Difficult but fun
It’s been a while since I last played last year on this same course. There are holes that a have a different layout . The course I found difficult to play with the wind and got challenging indeed for a short hitter. The course condition was really good and always fun to play specially if you get the fairways.
Slow play
Very slow pace of play, 5hr for 18. The holes are too close to each other and not spaced out well. You share the same cart path between holes, so you could be driving to your next hole with golfers on the previous hole hitting in your direction. It made the course congested and it felt like there were golfers everywhere. The course condition was average for this time of year. Some holes were changing and fun. It's a place I wanted to try but I would probably not come back to.
Everything’s awesome besides pace of play
I love this courses layout and conditions. The zoysia grass makes amazing fairways and greens are well maintained. Course doesn’t drain remarkably however the main melt of snow just happened. Expect for at least a 5 hour round coming here. Some guests don’t understand etiquette or the course is packed with tee times every 10 minutes.
