Beautiful Course
The course is excellent! What a challenging but fair test of golf. Some really original holes and with some fairly long forced carries, so it is important to pick the right tees for your game. There is ample room to hit the driver from the tees but it will punish you if you’re not hitting that driver well. It is the type of course where you will have to think your way through some holes. Hole #9 and #18 are two of the most challenging (but really good) finishing holes I have played. Course is in great shape and an excellent track and very well priced for the course.
The clubhouse is a trailer but that’s okay if it keeps prices down. The men’s room was disgusting though and I think I’ve seen cleaner toilets in roadside truck stops. Clean the restrooms!
The course, however, is fantastic!
Was expecting more for the hype
Fairways full of divots. Greens full of ball marks. Starters telling you where you should play before knowing anything and are very rude when you mention your handicap.
Tall skinny starter was very ignorant to first time players to the course.
On the course, awesome layout. Very challenging holes paired with nice and easy holes to make a balance.
Greens minus the ball marks were rolling well.
Nice course.
Starter was the star of the show. Great personality, very welcoming and gave some great insight prior to our tee off. He should truly run a course for other starters on how to interact with people. Such a pleasant man.
Amazing course. Very well maintained. Lots of challenging holes and nice layout.
Only critiques I have are that the bunkers need more sand in them, plus more yardage markers in the fairways
Great challenge
Course was in fantastic shape !! It’s a challenging track that you have think your way through. We played in very windy conditions which didn’t help. Pin placements were abit unfair with some flags perched on significant mounds in the green and many others with an uphill/downhill putt, so no easy tap-ins. My only beef was being from out of town their rentals are awful. I had a set of brand new strata clubs which are awful and my buddy had old Wilson Staff from another era. I’ll definately play it again though when I pass through Hamilton next time. Would also love to challenge it with my own sticks !!
Yikes
Be ready for lots of blind shots, balls above and below your feet. First and last time playing. Very picturesque but very gimmicky. Not worth the $$ in my opinion.
Course was in ok condition and staff were great. Pace was slow. Thanks to the group who let us play through on 16 😂
Mixed feelings
Have played this course many times. It is quite challenging and this year is very good condition, except for ball marks on the greens. As a former 2nd assistant at a top 100 course , the greens mowers need to do a better job or repairing ball marks before they mow. Yes golfers should repair their own ball marks ideally, but in reality this is not gonna happen and the crew needs to fill in the gaps. Greens are in good shape (no disease) but are pretty chewed up. Quite a bit of rain day before but we teed off late afternoon and it had dried out pretty good .. it was still cart path only and could have easily been scatter or 90 degree at least. Makes it so slow with CP only .. hence the four hour and 40 minute round. This brings me to my next point. Tried to cancel due to CP only ( one of our group has had 2 back surgeries and walking makes it tough for him) especially at a very hilly course like this one. Tried to call Pro shop / GM no answer after like 5-6 attempts. I then contacted golf now .. miraculously when they put me on hold they were able to get someone on the phone .. they explained our situation but were told they would not cancel the time ( about 5 hours before tee time) and would charge me the full amount if we didn’t show up. This in my opinion is pretty poor customer service. I understand cancellation policies , but given our situation and the fact we tried to do this through appropriate channels , not letting us cancel was pretty lame. My buddy sucked it up and made it through the round, but I mean come on. The staff we encountered ( girl in Pro Shop and starter) were super friendly , but it seems to me that the GM /owner .. whoever is making he decisions regarding cancellation policies and charging need to rethink their stance. I really like this golf course , I have played it 5 times this year , but this experience has left a poor taste in my mouth and makes me want to take my business else where. Just doesn’t seem like a reasonable decision given the situation.
Used to be a perfect course.
No upkeep on a beautiful course. Greens were terribly marked up. No sand in the bunkers at all. Club bounces into equator or ball. Not worth the money anymore.
Good test of golf
Excellent course however no refreshment cart service on very hot day was not to be found. Also should allow power cart in parking lot after round .
