Shared cart issue
Golfnow offered 1 spot as cart included. The starter force me use the cart to other person before starting. I told him I am not comfortable with sharing and golf ow offered as cart included, no sharing noted. Then the starter said if I don’t want to share then go to proshop and ask refund. I had to play as shared cart but it was a horrible experience. I liked the course but no staff like that.
Not a bad course, would play again
Pretty solid course. I’d come back again. The staff were friendly. Drink carts came around often. But I would appreciate it if pace of play was given more attention; keep an eye on slow groups and give them a nudge. Facilitate faster groups moving ahead. We were a group of 4 in carts stuck behind a group of 4 walkers that were out for a stroll and had no regard for the rest of us. We had another 3 groups waiting behind us. Would like to see staff patrol the course and keep an eye on things like this as many of us struggle to play slow and prefer to maintain momentum.
Great Course and Pace
Played Carlisle G&C North course for the first time. Stunning day with perfect conditions, weather and course. Typically I’ve been riding but being later in the season thought I would walk. Great pace with no one in front or behind us.
Fairways and greens were in very good condition. I would definitely play here again!
Slow but Steady Play
I’ve played here several times this season and enjoyed every time. Pace was slow at times but not too bad. I like the layout but some of the tee blocks were in less that great condition. Fees are a little high but these days course are expensive to maintain.
Overall nice course!
Very slow play
There are 3 nines at this course.
The first nine was so slow , it was painful. Backed up on each hole with high handicappers in front of us. We (3 some) are not the world's best golfers but as the holes are really short, we caught up with the group in front (a twosome). At one point there were five players on one hole, as they joined the slow players ahead, complete with fishing rods. Hello Marshalls ! Er, No didn't see one.
In fairness the other nine was not as slow, but the spacing between groups is not good. Very short course, will not play again
Won't be back for the abuse
I've heard previous accounts of poor organization and mixed up starting times at this course but this was my first. As someone who works as a Starter and Marshall at another course I would suggest Carlisle fire this one.
Checked in just before 9 am for our 9.48 tee time and then proceeded to get my clubs from the car. Was about to meet my son at the driving range when the starter came flying up in his cart SCREAMING that we had 5 minutes to get to the T or else we can T off at 11.30! Didn't stop his cart and speak to us. Just screaming.
No explanation. Tee'd off at 9.12???
Nice course but I don't need the abuse.
PLEASE Help Train the Marshall Staff
I've played this course as a Kaneff member regularly and recently encountered issues with the marshall group. I understand that Marshalling is a fine line between customer service and course management, but I found Ned the starter to be quite arrogant and controlling power tripper while overlooking his post. Neither did Ned understand the covid distancing as he continually approached me while I swung my driver to establish 6 feet spacing. Other Marshall's that day were unable to manage pace of play and chalked it up to "Its WOMEN in front of you" as an excuse for slow play. OUCH! That's NOT acceptable in 2020! Another marshall couldn't speak well enough to be heard, possibly due to age or health. Great to have a marshall staff, but little values if they cannot do a task effectively. Touchy job that most courses need a proper training program.
Best course ny far
Played today. Temperature was cold so there was not many on the course. Pace of play was exceptional. We flew through our round in 3 hours. Course was in great shape. Greens were airrated but were rolled and filled. What do you expect for this time of year they ste getting the greens prepared for spring. So we can all come back and play it over and over again. Staff were very helpful. Best track in the Hamilton area.
The best course in for he area
No doubt this is the best track in the Hamilton Burlington region. Course was well maintained fairways were lush so you could go digging without getting club bounce. Best bunkers around ( not that I wanted to be in them but That's golf). You will not regret playing this gem.
Awesome!
Thank you!
Absolutely Beautiful
First time playing this course and cannot find one negative word to say about it. From the tee blocks, fairways, sand traps, greens, were all in excellent condition. Pace of play was fantastic!
Wow! thanks
Thanks
I wrote this review but it was meant for Dragons Fire not Carlisle GCC!
