Royal Niagara Golf Club - Iron Bridge Course

About
With a location tucked away between the Niagara Escarpment, the Bruce Trail, and the Welland Canal, Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club offers 27 scenic holes. The Iron Bridge Course is one of the three nines at the club. The first hole runs across the magnificent Iron Bridge, which passes over the rambling waters of the Welland Canal. There are undulating greens and deep, well placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Although all of the courses at Royal Niagara Golf & Country Club are equal in difficulty and beauty, each layout is unique with an interesting set of challenges that pose a formidable test for players of all skill levels.

Course in good condition
Greens fast, traps some unplayable due to rain water
Needs fixing
Course was good but a lot of blind shots if you don’t know it. Greens were fast and true. No sand on the cart so tee boxes were chopped up. Carts don’t have any protection of your clubs from rain. Staff very nice.
Course
I don't feel they price charged was worth it. The greens have been air rated and top dressed. The putting surface was horrible.
Courses should provide maintenance alerts
I feel that i should first state, that i do enjoy this course and that the staff is always great and that I like the layout of 2 of 3 courses, which is why i chose to drive nearly 2 hours to play there and make a day out of spending some time in the region after our round.
Now for the negatives. This course has 3, 9 hole courses available. On this day, only 2 were available as one of them was shut down for maintenance. Unfortunately for me, it was my favorite 9. There were no rakes at any of the bunkers which meant that you were looking around for a decent place to hit your ball from. Lastly, the greens had been punched recently.
Now, just to be clear, I do understand and appreciate that maintenance needs to take place in order to ensure the course is in it's best condition possible for the future, however, I also feel that the customer should be made aware of these conditions and restrictions, prior to booking any round. Not so long ago, courses would post on their site that work was being done and offer you a discount for the inconvenience. If I had been made aware that this was the state of the course that day, I wouldn't have booked that round, especially for that price.
No yard poles at all.
It’s off season play now.
However, there are neither 150 yard white pole nor 100 yard red pole on the fair ways.
We tried to find the white 150 yard plate, 100 red plate on the ground, but nothing was there.
Of course NO GPS on the cart.
We play different corses in Niagara and St. Catharine , but worst fair ways in this season.
Late season
For late in the season, value and course condition was great. Greens were in fantastic shape, which I'll admit I was shocked due to end of season. No beer cart on the course, but that isn't a big deal. Very happy with the staff and everything.
