Brentwood Country Club

About
Brentwood is a 1980s-style course with narrow fairways, loads of out-of-bounds, and water in play on more than half the holes.
Two par 5s stand out on the front: the opening 540-yard eye-opener, and the 517-yard No. 6, considered the toughest hole of the front nine.
On the back, the par 5 530-yard 15th hole is rated as the most difficult.
Getting there : From I-10 east, take the Walden Rd. exit and turn left. Drive approximately 4 miles and turn left onto Major Dr. The course is .5 mile down the road, and the entrance is on the left side of the street.

Horrible shape
Was told by staff that course was in ok condition, it was actually terrible condition I'm not sure how it stays open, greens, fairway and cart path all in sad shape.
Making progress
This used to be the course in Beaumont open to the public known for the layout and GREENS. It's not in the shape it once was but it was night and day from where it was 3 months ago. I would play here again the greens need alot of work but you can tell the work is being put in to get the course somewhat back to where it was and was worth the price paid to play. Green fees 20 years ago were $50 to $60 with cart ID have no problem paying $50 a round with cart to see it how it once was but it does show progress is being made.
Please work on your greens
I like playing this course and would say it’s one of the better layouts in the area. The greens need work though, they seem to get smaller and more crab grass every time we try to play. They don’t seem to mow them like some of the other courses in the area. We played several that had water coming up like it had just rained and this was at 2 in the afternoon in a drought. We also had a problem with the golf now reservation with the worker sayin they did not charge us for the cart. He said he would let it slide this time so buyer beware. I’m not planning on playing here again for a while. Just disappointed in what could be a great course. They are doing maintenance to some of fairways.
Disappointed
Used to love this course 10-15 years ago but man it’s gone downhill. Looks like that quit spending money on course.
Fun course bad greens
This course is fun to play but the greens leave something to be desired. The grass on the greens looks like a mix of crab grass and whatever the grass for the green is supposed to be. The fairways look great and the course is challenging just wish they would improve the greens. The new carts are great and the staff is very helpful
Decent Course
The course has potential to be great. The course was just mowed but the clipped grass was left on the fairway. The greens were being aerated so they were very slow and unreadable.
not going back
don't know how course stays open. Clumps of cut grass in every fairway. Grass was high in some fairways, sand traps unplayable. Been waiting years for this course to get better don"t see this happening
Pasture pool
Front nine greens unplayable over sanded uneven, fairways grass uncut, back nine greens were not in better shape. No warning from club house before play.
Major Dump
We were traveling in from Lake Charles and decided to stop and play one more round. Called in Thursday and set up a tee time. We arrived early to check the greens out. OMG how does this place even stay open! Why are you open??? Evidently this place has no income coming in because everything is overgrown. Clubhouse is old and tired. When you have to walk through and around to get to the pro shop, that’s not very efficient. Just a dump. Don’t waste your time. I would have taken more photos but figured this was embarrassing enough. I’m glad we didn’t play.
Fun course
Fun course with some challenging holes. Course management will lead to lower scores. Greens are more receptive than most courses in the area.
Worst condition on a golf course I have ever seen.
I booked through this app. When I arrived they had no booking and stated they had not been particularly with golf now or tee off for some time now. He did go ahead and honor my tee time but said I shouldn't book on the site anymore. 🤔
The course. By far one of the worst conditions courses I have ever played. Green were burnt, dirt and hard as rocks. Sand bunkers were overwhelmed with grass. Fairways had not been mowed and tee boxes were moved or missing.
We got the luxury of being able to meet the ground keepers and mowers. At noon they decided to mow and would not stop if you were putting or allow you to play through. Short par 4 or 3 not sure as tee box was moved up we had to eventually hit into the man mowing as he would not stop.
The grounds keeper mentioned this was the best the course look since he had been there....
Not my 1st time playing this course but unfortunately it has gone down hill.
Lost for words.
Great course ruined by greens
Sadly they have sand and spiked every green, the fairways are in great shape. Normally I would say this is one of the best courses and value for money when the greens are in good shape! Wasn’t aware that I needed a rake for a putting green this time.
Wet
Course had a lot of rain the day before I played. So course was very wet. But it seemed like greens and fairways haven't been cut in days. Also greens are in terrible shape most are only half covered with grass. The greens haven't been in good shape in months or year. Picked up ball and left course after 10 holes. Wouldn't play now if it was free
