A Pleasant Surprise
I recently played The Bridges at Tillsonburg and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I had been avoiding the course because they decided to open during the lockdown but decided to give them a shot. The positives: A challenging layout, nice mix of the old traditional nine and the new holes. Greens were great and lots of character with slopes and movement. Very scenic course on the back nine. Price was a great value at $56 to ride on the weekend. The negatives were few but should be noted: the course is not walkable; I usually walk so this was a disappointment. Fairways were a little thin in places which was a surprise given the wet summer we've had. Routing is a bit jammed on the front nine and my last complaint is the 16th hole. I never like hitting a six iron lay up on a par four although I did like the the green site on the hole with it benched into the side of a hill. All in all a good day and I would be back to play again, especially with a little course knowledge the next time around.
Hidden Gem
The Bridges at Tillsonburg is a course that offers a number of different options for length, which I always appreciate. The holes are varied in terms of length and challenge with elevation changes in the fairway, thick rough and trees in addition to water and sand. We were two women playing and had a great pace of play. The staff are friendly as are the other golfers! A very enjoyable day and we will be back.
Long weekend
I have played here numerous times before and enjoyed it very much. This time however, it took almost 5 hours to finish 18 holes! I understand it's a long weekend, but I would think more reason to amp up your staff to make sure everyone is moving along at a steady pace. The greens were in rough shape as well and hopefully they get them back to life. Otherwise, a nice course at a good price.
The golf course has many unique features which makes it a pleasure to play
Couldn't have asked for a better time of golf had some very tough holes .The staff and the condition of the course was excellent.
Enjoyable
Fun course to play with nice scenery
Nice layout
Need to choose your clubs wisely on the back 9 !
Pleasantly surprised!
Well maintained course with great views from first to last hole. Caters to all levels and provides challenges as well. Staff was very accommodating and the club house restaurant was the the perfect end to a wonderful day.
Great Course
Loved the course and everyone was helpful. It started at the proshop, to the cart girl, to the clubhouse. Great first experience. There were a couple of greens that had weather damage that was not there fault. There are a few holes that you need to have someone tell you where to place the ball. Thanks
Will be back to play again
Great track
This was to us, a hidden gem. First time playing it and need to play it again. There are a few very tricky holes and some strategic shots are required. Bistro very tastefully redone and a friendly staff all round.
Nice Course
Great course for the money, back 9 is very picturesque
Surprised
I could not believe that they built a halfway house at the end of the fourth hole? Why?
Still nothing on the back nine and the cart girl has only one kind of sandwich.
Come on this makes a fun round not enjoyable.
Great Course
Challenging and fun course to play in very good condition greens are fast.
Bridges at Tillsonburg
A must-play in the area. Not long but, a good challenge. Need to be straight.
The Bridges
Course is not overly long but very interesting, especially the back nine. I'm a senior and played from the blue tees. next time there is a couple of holes that I would play from the white tees .You do not want to walk this course as some holes are a long distance apart and a lot of up and down.
2 courses in 1
Course was in great shape except for the greens that had some frost damage but had been rolled and cut short so they rolled true. Pace was quick-18 holes in 3 hours. First 7 holes and 18 are part of old course-somewhat easy, remaining holes are more challenging with shot accuracy at a premium on many holes. Used a Hot deal to play this course, well worth the money.
Enjoyed the rouund will definetly play again
Well worth the $$ Front nine is much easier than the back where club selection is a must.
friendly staff
staff was very friendly and helpfull. course was in great shape.
October Golf
Staff was very friendly on registration. Bowl of homemade mushroom soup was delicious and server was friendly and efficient. Putting green was a bit on the small side. The first seven holes are "old" , the next 10 holes are "new" and the 18th hole is part of the original "old" course. There are many changes in elevation. The scenery is spectacular at this time of year with the leaves changing colour. The greens were in excellent condition. Water comes into play on a number of the "new" holes. I would highly recommend this course to everyone for the rest of this year and into the regular 2016 season.
