Edgewater Golf Club

About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Favorite course
40 min. Drive from rock hill but worth the drive best course around that I’ve played
Great Course!
Definitely a diamond in the rough, 5 stars across if it weren’t for the construction on the course, and beautiful clubhouse. Some areas were muddier than I would expect if improvements were not underway. So, if your reading this, it’s a don’t miss course!
Great Course - Flat Tire
The course is fun with some challenging holes especially the longer par 3s. The only problem we had was a flare tire on the golf cart.
Lots of Ups and Downs - On the Course and Card!
We found a very nice course between Charlotte and Columbia at Edgewater. The staff was very nice, especially the starter. There was a really nice driving range, but the chipping green was not yet open and neither was the new clubhouse. In another month or so, this place will be really, really good. The course seemed to change elevation on every hole - lots of uphill shots and downhill shots, but nothing too punishing. It provided a fun challenge on a course in good shape.considering it was early spring. would love to play here again later in the year.
Love the course
I love the layout of this golf course. The first hole is driveable when the conditions are dry otherwise with a good drive it’s a pitch shot. Pin placements are challenging depending on where they are with the contour of the green. Coming off of winter the fairways weren’t as pristine as they are in the summer months. Once the new clubhouse opens this will be an excellent choice to enjoy a day at the golf course. I highly recommend this course.
Appears all money is going into facilities, and nothing into course.
Nearly every tee box is a mud box with very little grass.
Recently aerated, but after 3 weeks, putting is watching your ball bounce all over the green.
The new clubhouse facilities and driving range look amazing, but the golf course looks atrocious. I’ve played several courses around town, so the winter time excuse is old.
Beautiful course
This is our second time playing this course. It is one of the better courses we have played in the area. It plays long with plenty of challenges. I would have rated it higher for conditions had it not just been aerated but the rest of the course is in good shape for March. We are looking forward to playing it later in the spring when the grass is lush. It’s a little far for us, otherwise it would be on our regular schedule.
Very Disappointing
Got to the first green only to discover they had been plugged and sanded so putting was irrelevant for the entire round. There should be info given before you book the tee time online. I get it is necessary for maintenance but there were other options on a Friday we could have chosen without driving an hour and being disappointed. I think this is more on Golfnow than on Edgewater but maybe both. Either way, disappointing.
One of our Favorites
Always enjoy playing Edgewater. One of our Favorites that I drive over an Hour and Half for to meet family, friends and coworkers.
Good Layout
We enjoy playing this course for a change of pace from our normal courses. Considering the weather, the course was in good shape. Greens rolled true and fairways were fine to hit off. Staff was very accommodating and great to work with, This will be interesting to see when the clubhouse is completed, it is looking good right now.
