Course needs help
We played the course and it was $20 a person. The tee boxes were in really bad shape and the greens are even worse. It’s fun to get out to practice iron shots but putting is impossible. I
Lake Ridge 1
Good layout but not well maintained. Bunkers and Greens need constant upkeeps.
Almost abandoned
Greens are very damaged. Bunkers don’t have sand, just weeds and should be marked as OB. Some bunkers look like ponds. It just looks like Prince William county refuses to spend any money on the course.
Had fun, played with coworker, overall liked the course, could have sand on the bunkers and greens could have been smoother and it would make a way bigger difference but overall a fun 9 holes.
Nature is Reclaiming this Course
First time playing here in quite some time and this is not the course I remember. There are literal animal burrows and giant holes on the greens and fairways… It was indistinguishable when the last time any of the grass may have been cut, and the bunkers were more weed than sand. On a different note the closest thing to a water hazard on this course was a buried, but leaking sprinkler flooding the corner of one of the greens. This course is practically a danger to play. I will give pace of play 5 stars because I think we were the only people on the course when we played.
You get what you pay for, mostly
So yeah, this is a poorly maintained course with zero amenities, and by zero amenities, I mean this place doesn't even have a grill. It's pretty sad. I guess sad is the word I would use to describe this place. It's just sad. I won't be back. All of that being said, though, the staff member was great.
Course is a mess.
I know this is a budget course but I couldn’t believe how bad of shape it was in. Most tee boxes you’re hitting off rocks or sand, most greens are tore up making normal putting impossible. I paid 8 dollars to golf here and I still probably won’t go back. It’s shame because even a little TLC could make this course fine.
Great course for sharpening you short game skills!
This course is great for pitching wedge and putt practice . Last three holes offer an opportunity to use a 6, 8, and 9 iron from the tee to green.
Thank you for your review! We are working on getting the course back in to shape was we didn't have a Superintendent for most of last year. The greens continue to improve and we have a bunker renovation project planned through the year! Prince William County is a great supporter of Lake Ridge and we will continue to see improvements over the coming months! Hope to see you back out soon!
