Worst golf experience of my life!
Upon checking in the pro had me down for a foursome even though my confirmation said twosome. On the 2nd hole we were paired with a member of the course playing as a single named, "Slim". Nice guy at first, then it turned for the worst!
On the 10th tee box, while teeing off my partner, my brother in law, noticed that Slim parked right next to our cart and was fidgeting around with something. When my brother in law looked closer he saw Slim throw something quickly. After our tee shots my brother in law asked if my wallet was always there like that in the compartment, I said no. When we parked I counted the money in my wallet and noticed 3, $100 bills missing. Now I know "why carry that much?" "You should've put it elsewhere" but golf courses have always been a safe place. Slim started acting very sketchy, driving around, and completely unlike the guy we just played 8 holes with.
On the 11th tee box I confronted Slim and asked if he had indeed gone through my wallet and taken the $300 from me to which he got defensive and kept on with the unusual behavior. Why wouldn't he admit to taking it? I was golfing with my brother in law and he was the random pairing for the group. Slim then left and proceeded to the pro shop. When I called the pro shop from the 12th tee I was told the Pro was coming out to see us with Slim. The pro carried on with telling us Slim is a great guy and doesn't need our money and I'm foolish for making such an accusation. I'm not a detective but are these guys serious? I will never be back. The Pro kept raising his voice and trying to blame me for things. I'll never return and if anyone reads this just say "no thanks" if you ever get paired with Slim. Your wallet will thank you!
new to course
I like the layout, however the greens were slow and and the ball did not roll out. Made putting extremely difficult, Everyone in the foursome was coming up short on putts
Course In Great Condition
Played on Father's Day so it was booked solid. Waited a bit on every shot as expected but finished in 4 hrs 45 mins. The golf conditions were great! The greens rolled smooth and fast!
Sean
Pace of play was 5+ hours. We were doused with sprinklers on four separate holes despite the course being clearly overwatered. Several greens had countries too severe for the mowers. Avoid this course— there are plenty of others in the area.
Worth your while!
Course was in good to very good condition. Fairways are a little tight but the second cut is playable!
Slow play
5 1/2 hrs to play. Need a ranger to move things along.
Bad business
9:30- arrive for 10:36 hot deal, foursome on first tee no one else in sight. Starter tells me that there has been a mix up and they don't honor hot deals before noon. Go to show him my conformation and he says he has my paper work but he put me in at noon as (again, they don't honor...) I say just put me out, I'll play with anyone or alone. He calls his boss and leaves message. 10:00 haven't heard from boss, 2 women check in for 10:10 tee time, I say pair me with them, he says I have to wait for boss. 10:10 boss calls and says not till noon. In parking lot on phone with golfnow till 10:36 and as I leave a few guys pull in. So in the 1 hour and 6 minutes I'm there 2 groups go off but they won't let me out!
Good round every time!
Great golf every time. Tully’s tap house is the bomb and a great way to finish.
Impressive
The course was in beautiful shape. You couldn't see any brown grass. The fairways were really nice but the second cut was so lush and long it was tough to hit out of them sometimes. Greens were great and the course service wagon was right on with dogs and drinks. 18 holes is a bit pricy but they have it going on.
They Get Plenty of Play Hence they don't care.......
I only played because of an invite to play with a long lost friend knowing I love the layout however the tee boxes ,Sand traps, and the greens are as firm as the parking lot since the day the place open. The rates keep going up and the course conditions keep decreasing.
Always fun
The Ridge is in good shape. It’s basically my home course but I was able to take advantage of the Hot Deal and had a great time. Pace of play was fantastic today. I always look forward to a solid round at River Ridge.
Pure greens with great layout
I hate to give a good review because I rather keep it to myself! Pure greens, fair but challenging from the tips. Multiple tees boxes on most holes so many player type options. If you haven’t played it, it a must. At the price... you won’t find better.
Never again - don’t care about COVID
Booked my round with a cart. Came into the clubhouse and was told i had to ride with a stranger or had to pay an extra $20 for an extra cart fee. People I was playing Wes could have Covid and they don’t care they just want their 20 bucks. I was forced to walk and trust me… you DO NOT want to walk here.
I’ll never come back.
Not enough bang for the buck....
Really hope they can get this place back into shape in the next 6 weeks.
I like this place - a lot - but to charge 63$ on a weekend for the shape it’s currently in is not worth it. The greens are average. Burn marks, sand streaks and chunks missing in places. Grass around greens is ok, not great. Tee boxes are heavily worn. Fairways ok. Mark one of the Pros is the best - awesome people here - but man they need to get to work if they wanna charge nearly 70$ To ride 18 on any day of the week. For that money play Norwich or CT National for the same money or less.
Sorry guys. Hope it gets better as the weather breaks. I will be back
