Some Construction Going On
Course is in ok shape. Construction of paths, roads, houses, and all else going on.
Greens were varied in speed and condition, some burnt. Fairways were long and rough was short.
Many areas of GUR not marked, nor were hazards/penalty area.
Some holes had distance markings, some did not.
Cart was crap with squeeking brakes that locked up and two front wheels wanting to go different directions, often at different times.
New management is making improvements, but I'll wait until next year to play here again for the $$$$ charged.
Great little course!
While traveling through the area we stopped to play a quick game. We only had time for 9 holes and were given the option of playing the back 9 which we did. It was absolutely beautiful and challenging to say the least. The staff was excellent and food was hot and ready to take out with us. The course was in great shape and we would highly recommend this gem.
Great place to tee up and test your skill level
The staff was great course was in great condition and the scenery was beautiful
Very Nice
Very nice course. You can tell they are working hard to join what was formerly two independent nine hole courses into one great 18 hole track. The improvements they need to make will come in short order I’m sure. Give this course a try you’ll love it.
I can dig it!
Back 9 is the money shot! Got an awesome “island” par 3 and a couple more challenging holes. The front nine is decent. Layout is super confusing if you’ve never played this course before, and that goes for front and back nine. Very well kept course with great staff. A lot of short par 4s and 5s with wide open easy par threes making for a good low scoring round. Play this course super aggressive to the pin and you’ll have a lot of fun! (Attached is a photo of me out driving the green on 15, which is a short par four maybe 346 off a semi narrow tee shot.)
Overpriced
Played several years ago before the back 9 was completed. Was not impressed with the back 9 layout. The 17th hole is a guess where to hit your 2nd shot. Landing area about the size of a popsicle stick
Hole 16 has power lines and guy wires to contend with off the tee. Greens were quite slow. Decent sand in the bunkers. We got to the 10th tee and there were 4 groups. The first group was a six some. Course was sending groups off the back because of an afternoon shotgun event. Course is way over priced for daily play. Will not be back
Beautiful Setting and a Crazy Back Nine
4 stars for green conditions. Starting to grow in for the spring, just were cut, albeit a little high and slow, but has been a rainy week before. Undulations and most slope off in every direction.
Above average to average for fairways. They weren't cut close but smooth.
Tee boxes were just mowed also but left a little to be desired.
Back 9 addition is crazy layout but tough and very cool. Makes it worth driving around finding the teeboxes.
Clubhouse and extras are light, but effective hot dogs and standard beers at the turn.
Nice course in western South Dakota
A Long hitter will have many birdie opportunities. It's a very scenic course at the entrance to the Black Hills. Well maintained fairways and forgiving greens. One of my favorite courses in Western South Dakota.
Nice course but pay attention to the layout
Nice challenging course, pretty views and well maintained. The transitions between a couple of the holes is a bit confusing, first time golfers will wish there were a few more signs pointing the correct directions. On hole 3 you can see the “green” but it’s actually a practice putting green, and the actual green is hidden. Just pay attention to the map on the card and everything will be ok.
Especially happy with the office personnel..........John and Ed. They are 2 really good people. Give them a raise!!
Well maintained golf course
Good golf course. Open fairways. Not the most demanding course but fun to play. Scenic Black hills vistas.
Slow play
5 groups of 6-8 people each. 4 hours for 12 holes. Ridiculous!! Good staff but they need to work on groups of 4 every 10 minutes like other courses in the area.
Great fit and style
Awesome views....the course indured alot of rain and still very playable. We enjoyed every hole. Didn't have time to play the back 9, but they have put alot of work into it! Can't wait to come back
This is the 2nd time we have played this course. It was a terrible experience last year with the staff and how rude they are. So we thought we would try it again this year with hopes it would be better. However they treated us the same. This time they were actually worse. My family and I will never go back there.
