About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

A little slow but great place
So the course is probably one of the 2-3 best relative to all other semi private/public courses within 20 miles of where I live and that fact combined with a great deal price in late afternoon means slow pace of play. Just the trade off you have to expect. Greens in really good shape for late winter/early spring. Fairways and tees just coming around but still best of any like courses around Ft. Worth. Really top notch.
Great course, one of my favorites. It's in pristine condition now, better than most courses I've played recently. Staff was friendly and the lunch after my round was very good.

Good Round
Had a good round. Pace of play was a little slow due to it being the first nice day for a few weeks. Course conditions were good overall for this time of the year. Staff were great.

Good course and layout.
I’ve played country clubs most of my life. But this is a good public course in Fort Worth. Layout is great and fun, a little challenging. You honestly don’t need to hit driver much here if you’re a long hitter. Pace of play wasn’t great but, that’s what you should expect playing a public course honestly. Staff was super friendly from the Golfshop, marshals, and then cart girl staff.
All of that being said, I’m not sure I would play here on a regular basis just because of the value. I think the prices are a little steep, even for their membership benefits.

This course surpassed my expectations! For the value & exceptional amenities, you will not a better deal than Fossil Creek.

Top Notch Golf Setting!
My son-in-law and I played Fossil Creek for the first time. The course setting and design are superb. The restaurant was really, really good. The pricing for both the golf and the restaurant were very reasonable. We both had a great experience. Kudos to all the staff!

Good layout, Greens are trashed
Fall/Winter golf can always be challenging in Texas, but the greens were in awful shape. Bunkers were hard as a rock, fairways very firm, and greens were spotty and muddy.

Wet, wet, wett
Almost every green had too much water/mud surrounding it. Greens were not in their normal good shape. Had to wait on every hole.

They water the course. A lot.
Great Palmer design jewel of a course. My only issue is they tend to over water. There are swarms of muddy spots and larger wet areas on the fairways and especially around and directly in front of the greens. Anything that lands short will not run up… it’s either in a loblolly of worse. Embedded. I’ve played the course 5 times and these conditions existed on each round.

The Incredible Shrinking Greens
Very disappointed in how the course was for the $100 price tag. Greens are so much smaller now, it was wet and muddy in so many places, and the bunkers were full of rocks. If you want the same pea-size greens that are in better shape for half the cost, go to Riverside. Don’t waste your time (almost 5 hour round) or money here!
