Not worth the green fee!
Living in NWA, I played my 2nd round here in 6 years and was again highly disappointed. Was hoping the recent boom in golf promoted the owners to improve course conditions. Maybe they are trying but with this expansive layout, where do you start?
Course is highly challenging for anyone and especially the average golfer (15 + handicap) playing different courses. Every week local knowledge would help tremendously but you must be a shot maker to get around this track.. The cost of maintaining and improving this course must be a major challenge and can appreciate the large endeavor, however I would strongly encourage at least timely mowing of the fairways, tee boxes, flag position sheets, and providing some directional/yardage info that would enhance a visitor’s experience. This course just strikes me as a good ole boys course for the local bubbas to say they play golf. Couple dozen Pinnacle golf balls and dozen beers and we are off to a good time.
Crazy layout at times
My wife and I played here and had a good time. The views are great on many of the holes. Very sloped greens here make for some unexpected 3 putts. The second hole is a very narrow valley with walls on both sides and trouble all the way to the green. I hit the left edge of the green and it backed off slightly and rolled into a creek that is 5 yards to the left of the green! I made double after hitting 2 good shots to get there. You have to play the slope on most of the shots here. If you are all over the place off of the tee, you will hate those holes. If you struggle to read putts, this place will eat you up. I really never figured out the putting and managed zero birdies. I’m a 5.6 handicap. Shot 81 with 2 penalty holes. Clubhouse is typical small town erupted with very little in the pro shop. Carts are horrible, gas because of the hills, but not enough power to climb many of the hills. We had to get out or start from a running head start over again to make it up many of the steep hills. 4 holes at least. Beautiful looking course but it needs a little investment help and maybe flatten out some of the greens. The layout is hard enough that crazy hilly greens seems like over kill. It was fun overall, and unlike many courses now, we had a cooler on the cart and they sold drinks.
IRRESISTABLE
Rugged, sprawling, dangerous. Always an adventure. Some world-class (difficult) shots - if you can get your ball around here, you can get it around anywhere.
Extremely unique
This is the most unique course in Northwest Arkansas, and one of the most challenging as well. The layout is amazing, and no hole is the same.
What a find
What a find in the wooded hills of northern Arkansas. Each hole is cut out of the forest and you can not see any other hole from it . The greens were excellent rolled true and fast. For being in the hills of Arkansas the tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. It is a part 72 course. From the white tees at 6140 yards the rating is 71.0 and slope is 127. It is all you can handle. No beverage cart and not much of a snack bar. If you are ever in Northwest Arkansas treat yourself to a gem in the forest.
Nice track....
Nice course.....challenging.....some very tight fairways. Well worth the trip.
