Well Worth the Drive, This Is AWESOME COURSE!
I have to say I was looking forward to playing Eagles Bluff. So I made the long track out there and played it on a Saturday afternoon. Great Staff and I got to meet the owner, Very Nice Man. The course was in Mint shape. And though they had a lot of rain the week before I played it, it was awesome. I played this course from the black tip tees and found it to be everything I could handle. You better be straight of your coming home over 100, for sure. I shot my 3 wood a lot here except the par 5's and stayed in play but had a lot of back to back 3 wood shots on each hole to reach the greens from the back tees. Now if you want to enjoy a round move up to the Blues or whites and you can score way better. I holed out with a 41-42=83 Here from the back tees. I even Birdied the long par 5 on the back, Which is 705 yards from the tips. I hit Driver, 3 wood, 4 Iron 190 yards over the water, and stuck the pin at 7 feet away for a Birdie Putt. My Best hole of golf ever to this day. But know if you hope to beat this course you will have to, and I mean have to hit the ball straight, very narrow fairways, but the greens the day I played here were so soft you could stick the greens. And the greens were in the best shape. Tis course has it all, Sand, water, doglegs, elevation changes all over this layout. The 16th par 3 from no matter ware you play it is breath taking view. And I still think hole 17 from back tees should be outlawed. Is very narrow opening from back tees even the blues is tuff to keep your ball low and not hit the trees here. I highly recommend this course, worth the drive and time to go here I had a ball here, and used every club in my bag. Awesome, Awesome Course. 5 stars, I would give it at least 9 of ten... To me this is not a beginner track, you will loose to many balls here, this course is not for the weak, it's for the people who can play well... Best course in Missouri.
Hidden gem
Outside of the area. Perfect pace of play. If you’re expecting a high end golf course this isn’t your place. We had lot of fun playing and good scenery . Def be back again
MUCH better than previous years
Three years ago this course was virtually unplayable. What a 180° turnaround for the staff and the course! The course has always had a beautiful layout and some very challenging holes. The greens are in great shape this year and the zoysia fairways are coming in like carpet. Pace of play is always good but unless you're a low handicapper, bring lots of balls because the course has a lot of water in play. #16 is a spectacular par 3 and their signature hole. Highly recommend!
Great course!
Beautiful layout! Greens are like walking on carpet, but putt at a “normal” speed. Will be playing here again
Much better
Much better than previous years. fairways and greens in excellent condition
i dont think anything could have been any better and the views well you have to see them Amazing
Scenic golf course in great shape
Very scenic 18 hole golf course in great shape. Lots of fun and challenging holes. On the higher parts of the course you can see country side for miles. It’s near the Mississippi River, but the river itself cannot be seen. Very friendly staff.
What a fun course. This course has several doglegs, which was a challenge for my first visit. The course was in very good shape for this late in the season.
Greens
I played this course earlier this year wasn’t to bad. I just played again the greens were terrible. They had cut grass on them in chunks couldn’t even putt the ball. The fairways were fine.
Diamond in the Rough
I was looking for a course at the last minute for a Friday afternoon round, away from the city, that wouldn't be busy that I could play in 4 hours or less. I am so glad I found Eagles Bluff in Clarksville. The strengths of the course are its course design and layout and incredible views. The layout offers plenty of options for both the high handicapper and risk reward options for the expert golfer. You definitely will play most of the clubs in your bag. Take plenty of balls as there are opportunities to hit it into the trees and there's plenty of water! In terms of course condition, the fairways were in great shape, most of the tea boxes were in good shape, there are some greens that seemed to have of struggled the last two or three years but I also believe they're working hard to bring them all up to the same quality as the fairways.
One of the signature holes is definitely the par 512. 700 yd from the black, 660 from the blue, 620 from the white and just under 500 yards from the red tees. Slightly downhill it's a beautiful view and your last shot has to carry some water to get to the green. It's the longest hole I've ever played. But it was fun.
If you're looking for a place that has great amenities with food and bar this is not the course for you. But if you're looking for an inexpensive round of golf on a beautiful and challenging layout, away from the crowds with friendly staff and patrons then you'll definitely want to check out Eagles Bluff.
Great other than two closed greens
Went with a friend, and the 12th and 14th green had thatch all over them, the staff started to clean one off, waived me over, and said that it was going to be closed for a couple of days. He said “I closed it last night and didn’t tell anyone.” If I hadn’t gotten a “hot deal” I would’ve been pretty upset that I had to skip two of the eighteen holes.
Good course for the money
It's a little bit of a drive but for the price it is worth it. Greens had some issues but the fairways were nice and the rough was manageable. They definitely could use some new carts.
