The staff is horrible. Not friendly. Rude.

I walked into the golf course ant 12:03pm and asked if there was any available tee times. The front office guy “the manager “ tells me there’s none available until 2:40pm. I get on golf now. And see that there is one available at 1:12pm,1:15pm, 1:40pm, 2:00pm. I walk back in and tell “the manager” that he has available tee times on golf now. He’s says “oh sorrry. I didn’t think you were serious….” However in the misdt of all this one of the members feels my frustration and asked if I wanted to play with him. He had an available spot. I played with him. One of his buddies was late to the tee time. My tee time was 1:44pm. As you all know. Good golf etiquette requires you to be there at least 10 to 25 minutes earlier for warming up putting or chipping. I was there at 12 PM and waited until 1:40pm to go and get my golf cart. The office manager told me “no sir you have to wait until 1:44pm to get your cart” Which makes no sense to me because I need to be up at the first tee at 1:44pm to make sure that everything goes as planned. I came back at 1:44 PM and the office manager tells me “sir you need to wait a couple more minutes”. I tell him, sir it’s already 1:44pm and you have two carts sitting right here waiting to go! I already paid to
Golf. Why would you not want me to be already up there? Teeing off like I should be at 1:44pm and I’m not part of this group, I’m by myself. Long story short now. I didn’t get my golf cart until 1:46pm and that makes the people who paid for the tee time. The people who invited me to play, wait for me to get to hole number 1. Take what you want from this review. Just doesn’t add up to me.

Was not as I have experienced

Taking in consideration of the extended drought this area has experienced, I will base my review accordingly. The course was burned up and dry. The fairways were similar to that of a pool table or hardwood flooring. Although the greens were green, they were hard and fast. I will say that those factors are from the drought.
However, my main concern was the condition of the concrete cart paths. Most were sunken and broken up. This may have been caused by the drought as well, but many of them were just dangerous. Under normal conditions, they can be dangerous, but this time, they were really bad. I know that is a very expensive repair as well.
Hopefully some much needed rain will help get this course back to what it once was.

course dump

i have played the course for years now. I go once a year just for something different. It's now offically been deemed a dump! The fairways were ultlra steep, with no grass in them. The greens had holes in them the size of actual golf balls. Tee boxes had no grass. 45 dollars was almos too much to pay.

Everything terrible

This was one of my least favorite golf experiences in KC. The list is endless on how this course is bad. Cracked and falling apart cart paths, beat up greens, the fairways aren’t watered so they are even hard as a rock. With the drought conditions and every fairway being so sloped good shots just roll off of fairways. The net of the driving range was torn that it was redundant. This course needs major work.

Would avoid

Honestly I gave two stars because the course has potential would have gave zero if it didn’t. First off staff is the rudest most judgmental I have ever came across. I mean hands down flat out rude. The greens are completely covered in ball marks and big spots where they are just completely gone. Fairways are hard and then in some spots complete mud. It’s really pretty rough. Layout was cool. Wouldn’t go here to be impressed with conditions and definitely not to feel welcomed somewhere. Staff really ruined the day for me.

Neglect hurts course

It’s not a bad layout, but neglect has turned the fairways into rutted wastelands. One tee box was so bad that there was a plastic driving range matt there. Staff was excellent.

Poor course quality

The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens were in poor shape. The cart paths were cracked, splitting, uneven, etc. in many places. This could be a great course if improvements were made to the things mentioned above.

Good Driving Range - Nothing More

When the driving range is the best thing about the course, that's a bit disappointing. The driving range was closed, but have used it before. The course was in really lousy condition. Several greens were suffering from disease. Most tee boxes were in horrible shape. It seems almost every shot, including those in the middle of the fairway, are sloping one way or the other. Most of the carts have something wrong with them. Gas is slow to work. Brakes won't lock. The grill at the turn was about the only other highlight of the round.

This course has given up

It appears this course is in financial ruin or they've just completely given up on maintaining the course. There are weeds everywhere. The Tee boxes are dead and so are big chunks of the fairways. The shape of this course is the worst in Kansas City. Its a joke they still call themselves a Country Club. There is no municipal course that is in as bad of shape was this course.

One screwy golf course

Some questionable hole layouts, with infrequent flat lies to hit from (even at the tee box), sometimes to greens that wouldn't hold a velcro ball. They might as well dig up the cart paths and go full offroad, the paths are so uneven, broken-up, and rough. Plays pretty fast unless you get behind a 5 or 6 player group, which they seem to allow. The good news is you can get most tee times you want, and it's not very expensive.

Nice

Course was in pretty good shape, especially the greens. Yardage markers are needed as they are nearly non-existent.

Great for price. Very challenging.

You can't beat the price, especially with GolfPass. I probably spent more in lost golf balls than the $10 my round cost me.

The course is very challenging. Tons of sloped fairways and greens. I expect the grass to grow in better now that it is warming up, which will help to improve the course conditions, and help keep the ball in the fairways.

The driving range, putting greens and chipping areas were great.

I'm sure I'll be back
