Lighthouse Country Club

About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Pretty Golf Course
I hidden gem nestled around the granite terrain, plenty of water and sand traps! Not for the beginner but a great course to improve your golf game.
Good challenge on your game
Nice layout and demand for target golf to score well. The greens were slower than I’m used to playing, but with the weather and little rain the course was in good shape. I’ll definitely go back during the summer and see how much faster it plays.
Decent shape, very slow pace of play
I’ve played here a handful of times now, it’s a fun track. It’s in decent shape right now, I would imagine in the next month it’ll be in great shape. Most of the greens were ok, but tee to green it’s very much like a goat track.
What makes it 3 stars…the members. EVERY single time I encounter someone with their own golf cart (that obviously lives there) they are rude. They act like they’re members at some high end club and they look at you like “what are you doing on MY golf course?” And don’t even think about trying to play through, because that’s not happening.
I play here only when I can get like a $20 round and for that reason alone it’s worth it, but I can’t see playing here for more than $25 tops. And fingers crossed you don’t have to interact with the snooty locals, but if you do, remind them that this isn’t a high end private club. Lol
Hidden gem
Winter conditions left the course a little less green. But overall this course is very well maintained. The greens were a challenge but fair and in great shape. I wish Lightjouse was closer to my house.
Solid Experience
Couse was in solid condition, greens, fairways, tee boxes were good. Bunkers were wet, but so was the whole course so you can't blame 'em for that. Staff was friendly, if a bit hard of hearing. Course design is great, especially holes 4-7. Hole 6, a long par 5, was my favorite. There is a large area of rocks functioning as a hazard in the middle of the fairway and the green is worked well into the surrounding rock. The course design felt very professional and fun (as someone who almost exclusively plays muni courses). Wasn't a busy day so we were able to easily book a tee time and finish in under three hours. Overall a great golf experience. Recommend.
Great Course
The course is looking better than I have ever seen it.
Nice Hill Country Course
The course is in good shape. The fairways were green. The greens were surprisingly fast. It’s a good course for average players because there’s not a whole lot of trouble. The rate with a cart is very reasonable.
