RiverWatch Golf Club

The layout of this course is championship level to point I believe the slope and rating are inaccurate. Rating should be 74 and slope should be 145 from the back tees; you could remove all bunkers and the slope should still be 130 just because of the slopes off the fairway. The conditions are excellent even in the winter. Greens rolled true even though they probably have not been mowed for at least a week. This is a shot maker's course that requires placement, not distance.

Very nice course year round. Can be challenging at times but a joy to play. I live in Florida part time and play quite a bit down there but this is a course I look forward to. The staff has always been very friendly and the course is always in good condition.

Really fun course. The greens had been recently punched but still rolled nicely. Definitely will play again. Those greens would be fantastic and difficult in mid season form.

The course does not actually use golf now....... They had aerified and top dressed the greens.....They did not feel it was important to notify golf now so anyone that booked was aware......I asked when we checked in why no one was playing NOT one word that they had punched the greens from the golf shop person or pro..........very disappointed as we brought guest.....BOY were we embarrassed.....Never again.....Go to Lake Tanzi in Crossville.....much better experience...........

Overall like the course and will play again….but not until the greens are fixed. They were all sanded so putting was out the window. It would be great if GN required courses to regularly update course conditions, like “greens aerated” “cart path only”, “greens sanded” etc.

I’ve played this course several times over the years and it has never disappointed ! Great course but difficult! You need to bring your A game.

This course is always fun to play. The course is very challenging and provides you with a lot of hole variety. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you are in the area, you should try it out.

Sandless Traps, Poor transition from fairways to greens and no fringe, Terrible signage, divots everywhere, too dry, and dirty rest rooms. If you like a course like that then this one is for you.

I love this course. BUT. Haha....theres always but. There's a few things keeping this place from being an absolute DESTINATION.

First, let me just say this course design and location is stunning. Hills, valleys, contours, it has it all. What really kills it are some fixable conditions the course managers just seem to ignore. For one, there are waste area's on many holes where even good shots will end up that are nothing but rocks and gravel. In tournament play, theyre considered "in play" areas and you dont get relief. Meaning you have to either destroy your club or take an unplayable. This issue is forcing me to skip out on our tour stop at Riverwatch this year. Sorry, but its just not worth it to me to take stroke penalties for muddy, rocky waste areas inches from the fairway.

Secondly, the greens can be a little craggily. Theyre playable, except this weekend there was a lot of debris on them. Little seed things and grass clippings and such all over the greens. It made a true putt impossible. If they would just send someone out in the morning with a leaf blower to clean off the greens, they'd be a 9 out of 10 for this time of year.

Pace of play tends to be an issue at Riverwatch too. They rarely put groups together, so often you'll have singles and doubles rolling up on your foursome and you'll have to let them play through because you should, only to end up waiting on them when they hit a clog up in front of you. They could use a ranger and better group management.

All in all, this course is fantastic and I recommend it to everyone. I just wish they'd take care of some small things. This course is worth at least $45 a round in its current condition.
