A Gem
A course out of this world and a GEM. Tucked away the course have spectacular views and is enjoyable for low and high handicaps. We have played here several times over the years and it never fails to please. Can be a bit wet depending on the time of year. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Disappointed
Last minute booking but knew about the club.
Paid full price and travelled 25 miles only to find out when checking in it was only playing 13 holes (not mentioned anywhere).
The holes I played were okay and the greens were excellent.
Website requires updating as not mobile friendly.
And a course status would if helped.
Disappointed.
Enjoyable course and friendly people
This was my first time playing here, and it was a very enjoyable experience in a scenic setting. We were paired with two other players who were very patient with my friend and me, as we are both golfers with a handicap of 25 or higher. The course conditions were excellent, especially considering the recent poor weather. We would definitely play here again.
We'll go back
A nice course to visit. Like a lot of golf courses there's a narrow lane to the course entrance but it's not to far, about 5mins.
We picked a rainy day so got a buggy to get round a bit quicker but everyone else we seen out was walking. There's no real nasty hills to walk up but there's a few smaller 1s and a bit of a gap to walk between a couple holes.
Some nice varied holes in great condition, enjoyed them all. No stand out scenery moments but the entire visit felt peaceful and very relaxing without the sound of any traffic just out in the countryside.
Didn't see a range (didn't ask either) but there was a practice hole where some people were hitting a bucket of balls.
An hour from me but I will definitely look forward to a return visit
Lovely course, amazing views, loved it
Lovely course in great condition with some incredible views of Shropshire and beyond. I nice mix of tree lined holes, some challenging, but generally plenty of space. A few interesting slopes and a bit of water. Perfect!
Good facilities with practice areas and attractive club house. Everyone was friendly and it was very relaxed and tranquil. Will definitely play again.
Muddy course
Very muddy lost 2 balls that plugged on the fairway. Came off looking like I had been on a building site not a golf course
Needs some tlc
Short course even off the white tees. Could do with being lengthened. Played here a few time the biggest problem is other players not repairing pitch marks on the greens.
No definition in cuts between fairway and rough. 8th hole still playing off winter Matt.
Having said that £20 for 18 holes is cheap considering other courses over played are £150+. Hopefully as summer roles round the green keepers will be on it.
Nice course play again
The overall condition of the course was very good considering the weather we have had. Greens were consistent throughout and though the fairways were quite long they were in good condition.
Front 9 and 15 onwards were some lovely holes and my only criticism was the 10 to 14 holes which were very straight but guess that was due to space.
18 holes in under 3 hours so got to be happy with that and would definitely play again.
Timing is everything
Played here on a very cold day in Jan, and immediately a box was ticked as there were practice nets aswell as the standard putting greens to help you get warmed up. Greens were in a great condition considering it had been -2 overnight. It’s the first time I’ve played here, but someone else in our group had played it before and we’d come on his recommendation - which was well placed.
Course layout was great, plenty of challenges but rewarding at the same time, not too long a walk from green to tee so buggies aren’t essential, and all set with beautiful views of south Shropshire and mid-Wales.
The only thing that stopped it being five star review - and immediately you give them the benefit of the doubt because the weather has been incredibly wet up until a week before, was the fairways were longer than anywhere I’ve played before. Will definitely come back when the weather has improved.
Nice to get out
The course only had the front 9 open which was frustrating but understandable.
The course was very wet and the fairways very long but the greens held up very well.
Would recommend playing in drier conditions
Amazing Views - and great course
This has got to be one of the friendliest places to play golf. From the time we arrived to handing back the keys, the club pro in the shop helped us and as it was our first time playing the course gave us a lot of directions and instructions all of which were helpful.
First hole - easy par three to settle you down and then from there on, its the views that are astounding. Greens we not to tricky.
The course is set in three groups which is great because they are all different. Some holes are simply up and down, others are blind and some are over water. Mind if you play later on in the afternoon, the 17th can be blinding from the sun.
will be back
Very nice, friendly club with a great course. A lot of +300yd holes
Lovely position, well laid out and a pleasure to play.
Interesting Course !
The course is definitely not boring. Testing short par 3’s, water, uphill approaches to elevated greens. So many courses are just up and down but this one had real character about it. I have been considering joining a.club for some time and now I think I have found the one. Not just because of the course but the staff both in the club shop and bar were friendly as were the other members I spoke to. I think for a high handicapper and someone looking to improve their overalll game this course will allow you to use and get better all aspects of your game. PS the greens were in excellent condition.
Fantastic course.
Beautiful golf course & an absolute bargain to. Greens we’re excellent. Fantastic course we shall return to in summer.
What a course!
Brilliant course. Considering terrible weather a few days prior, the course was in mint condition. Fairways were a bit long, but given the fact it was underwater a week or so ago, has recovered really well. Cannot wait to be back in the summer!
