Excellent pace and good quality course.
As expected. Excellent pace of play, got round in four ball in under four hours. Only slight quibble is that some of the greens needed a sweep of leaves, etc but otherwise great value for money.
Excellent
Excellent value at £25. The course is designed well and makes for a good day of golf, if you mind your work. The condition was brilliant , especially considering the other courses I have visited recently. The weather has made life difficult for greenkeepers but the staff at The Belfry look after things very well. You get a warm welcome, and a friendly smile, from everyone from the moment you arrive. I played there with two of my brothers and cannot wait to go back and have another fantastic day out.
A Belfry Course for £25.00!
Anytime you hear the name The Belfry, you know you're in for something a bit more special. Took my society to play the Derby course for only £25.00pp! Full use of the facilities (Brabazon putting green etc).
A lot of reviews previously have complained of slow play but on a sunny day, we saw none of this. A shuttle coach takes you to the 1st tee at intervals so teeing off on time is easy. Would be easy to imagine the Derby course gets neglected with the PGA and Brabazon being there but we found the course to be in good condition for the time of year and the greens ran a lot faster than expected.
Overall, if you see a deal for any Belfry course on the app, go for it! You won't be disappointed.
Great course
After finding out my friend had a day off we decided to book somewhere nice to play golf. Rang a couple of private members courses who accepted visitors but their prices were ridiculous. Went on GolfNow and found a tee time for the Derby course for £25! Booked it, played it, loved it! Will be back again!
Great value
This was my first time playing the Derby course. I was scheduled to play alone, but on arrival was paired with two other golfers. They like to keep tee times grouped which helps with pace of play consistency. There is a bus service to take you to/from the first/last holes. The weather had been dry for days and that left the fairways and greens playing quite quick. When we reached the turn, we had our tee time checked to make sure the pace of play was on-track.
On the whole a well organised good course to play, at a great venue. Will definitely come back during the summer months.
Great coarse for the price
Great coarse for the price , it was quite boggy after a lot of rain over last few weeks , staff and facilities are second to none
Even the derby is an experience
So it's winter and the course was wet, but it was still playable, the greens were still quite fast and definitely in the summer months would be excellent speed and condition, their were no winter tees which was great. What I will say the overall experience of the belfry even playing the 3rd course was outstanding, on arrival you were greeted and told where to collect your transfer to 1st tee, on the derby this is about a mile away from club house so not having to walk there was a bonus, the starter that was collecting you and driving you down to tee was absolutely 1st class, we were paired with 2 strangers, and he really broke the ice and put you at ease, he explained where to go, so you didn't get lost on the course and was just such a fun guy. On completion of our round he was at the 18th hole to collect you and drive you back to the club house, again making you laugh, what a credit to the belfry experience this guy was. I would not hesitate to recommend playing here and will hopefully be back to try the derby again in the summer, and also the pga and brabazon.
Day at the derby
Played the derby today, after all the heavy rain and thunder storms wasn’t expecting it to be great, but I was pleasantly pleased, course was in excellent condition and greens were very good too, they look after this course as much as the other two, enjoyed the day only problem is £2,50 for a small bottle of water and £12+ for two coffees and parking is a bit crazy finding a space, but a smashing day out
Derby Course delight.
My friend and I booked an early afternoon round and although there were a few issues with people booking through different means, the staff were able to get us out and playing quite quickly. The course is nice with a few challenging holes, the condition was close to excellent with the only real issue being people not repairing the pitch marks on greens! If you play public courses and can get this for anywhere around £35 or less you won't be disappointed!
Bunkers
Bunkers very poor like playing on concrete, my own fault for going in them 😂
