To Muddy

Shame as a nice course but tees and fairways really muddy and the rough was unplayable in places I know we have had a wet winter but it was really bad

Fairways

The tees and greens are good for this time of year but the fairways require a massive amount of drainage work during the summer months to make them a pleasure to play on.
My golf watch still has the course layout from two years ago?

Mud bath.

In my opinion the course should have been closed for play due to excessive waterlogging and muddy ground. Playing in these conditions only causes damage to the course that results in considerable remedial work necessary in spring. The only benefit is the owners still maintain a constant flow of green fees.

Do not play in the winter

The course was heavily waterlogged. We stopped at 9 holes as it was unplayable. It is an ok course in the summer but avoid in the winter months. They should have closed the course. some fairways had no grass or were under water.

Good day.

I had good game and 3 balls ahead me , I was lone player, the time keeper was so generous to allow me start early.
Very buggy and puddle most places due to previous day / night rain. Other than great .

Good course with friendly staff

We played as Flackwell was closed due to weather, course was frozen but we were made aware of this before playing.

£19 each, course is great for public course

Always enjoy it, not the best condition but as expected.

Definitely recommend

Not a great experience

The greens were in good condition but the fairways and paths in the main were appalling. I have never experienced such mud on a golf course and wellington boots would have been more appropriate than golf shoes. I would not recommend playing here in December. The condition of the course was unacceptable and the worst I have ever played.

Winter golf

The course was in a sorry state with thick mud everywhere they should really NOT allow trolleys in the winter months to protect the course
But that is just my opinion
But with the weather we have had i expect most courses are this way and for £25 you can’t really complain

Wait till the summer

Probably the muddiest courses I’ve ever played. every single shot off the green either plugged or covered the ball in thick mud. Was hard to walk the course. Greens were ok. Won’t be back till the summer

Shouldn’t be open

The course was flooded and unplayable in parts. Only positives of the day was the staff and the bar. Waste of money I’m afraid on this occasion

Take your wellies! If it's rained recently....

Most helpful starter, put us out slightly earlier than planned as we had been paired up originally with another golf now booking!
Teed off, a quickly caught a single in front, so tried to stay back from him, went through him on the 9th, never to be seen again, course was busy, but feel that it shouldn't really be open.
Greens were really nice, soft, yet fast, lots of subtle breaks on them, far from flat.
Issue was just off the tee, the ground was so sodden in areas, it was like slippery sinking mud, balls were being camouflaged as they landed, with virtually no roll.
Sure it would be a cracking course in the summer, you can see that works been done and is continuing on the drainage front....
Loads of wildlife out there especially birds.
Had a chat with a very pleasant young green keeper out on the course, to find out some future plans.
Not a long course, but some really nice holes, especially the 4th approach, 8th and 18th.
Some short par 3's that work well....
Cracking range, along with an American golf on site...
Carry if possible, it'll be less things to clean after.
We lost a ball each to the unknown as leaves were abundance.
Keep up the good work greenkeepers....I can see ongoing improvements and impact...golfers please replace divots, repair pitch marks, rake bunkers and let faster players through....it only makes for a better existence for all.
