Great condition
Hats off to all the greenkeepers. To say we have had blistering hot weather the fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
A great course at a fantastic price. Will definitely be playing this course again. Thanks
Good Layout, Poor Condition
The front 9 is a really good little Parkland layout with some interesting golf holes. The tee off from the 2nd is one to savour. That's were the positives stop though. The back 9 is all a little bit samey. The condition of the greens were terrible and need a lot of work to improve.
Poor Condition
Very disappointing with the state of the course. It was difficult to distinguish between fairway and rough. Not looked after at all. Will not be returning
Good course for all abilities
Played Fiswick the other day, first impressions were good, staff were friendly and the pro was keen to give sound advice.
Course was great, I had read some reviews which gave me doubt however it was a glorious day so the fairways and greens were in good conditions. My only major gripe is that there were no distance markers and as I hadn't brought my garmin watch it was frustrating not knowing the distance to the pin.
Would revisit for sure.
Could be a very good couse!!!
This qould be a very good gold course if the greens, fairways, tee's and aprens were cut. This let the club down alot in my eyes, if every thig was cut and cut to a good standered this would be a very good club
Fishwick
1st impression not great no 1 to be seen .booked on for 9am waited till 9 30 am shouted in members lounge no answer .. door open grabbed a scorecard off I went. nice front 9 few flags just not placed bck in cup on greens ...bck 9 ok same again flags not placed back grrrr..14th or 15th there littrally wasn't a flag lol ..but still a nice course Id play again .... finished round 12:45 still no 1 to be seen lol
Decent course, with very friendly staff and members.
Played this course Sunday with 3 friends. The staff were very helpful and welcoming which is a great when you've never played the course before. Members were also very polite and welcoming. Will definitely be playing again soon.
Good, Average Course
Used to play fishwick sometimes as a kid was nice to go back, I prefer the front 9 to the back, the front 9 is more parkland style, the back 9 is more hilly and linksey.
I like the way fishwick seems anti-snobbery, it's a working mans golf club, but with hardly any of the drawbacks, it doesn't drain the best, in fact it drains poorly despite efforts to improve, the putting greens a joke it has holes with no flags and holds water.
Also the scorecards don't have a map and distances which always annoys me, although there seems to be very few courses which actually do.
And finally it borders several public footpaths and a couple of rough estates, so flags get pinched a lot (they use pvc pipe for several holes) and they sometimes get walk ons of the black shellsuit variety.
But everything considered I'd have no problem in joining or paying a green fee.
Fishwick Hall
I played with my 2 brothers on a beautiful sunny day and whilst there are some fantastic holes, notably 2nd, 4th and 12th, the course seemed very wet and the greens wet quite patchy and generally in poor condition. Overall we had a good day but were left feeling a bit disappointed by the course condition.
