Outstanding course

Considering the recent rainfall to find the course fully open was good news, pleasant welcome in the pro shop, Teed off on time, good pace in front allowing our 3 ball to follow with no hold ups, fairways and greens in excellent condition, well done the ground staff.

Impressive Course Alterations

Played the course yesterday, I have to say the course alterations that have been made in the last couple of years are pretty good. Unfortunately the new green on hole 6 (old hole 8) was out of action yesterday but the hole layout now makes it a good par 4. The course was in really good condition, although recent heavy rain had left several bunker flooded. I was impressed with the well stocked pro shop. The little touches like the golf club flags on the putting green and the wood style flag sticks out on the course really adds to the quality of the course. Having previously being a member of the course I expected the pace of play to be slowish due to us only being a 2 ball on a Saturday lunchtime. There were 2 seniors playing as a 2 ball in front of us also with a 4 ball in front of them. After 9 holes the 4 ball had gone 1 hole in front of the 2 seniors. After 18 they were nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately the seniors were playing on every green like they were playing for the ryder cup. 3hrs 40mins for 18 holes I feel is a little excessive on that course, but on the plus side it was lovely day. After playing yesterday I an considering re joining the club again nxt year as I still feel it is 1 of the nicest courses with really good practice facilities in the area.

Great course but some members were unfriendly

Played today and the course was great. Staff were great. Only issue i had was i hooked a tee shot! Shouted as loud as i could (even my mates laughed at how loud i had shouted), as i knew the four ball behind were on the previous hole temp green. I walked to find my ball and tried to apologise but was bombarded by all four members. One even aggressively shouted and swore at me. All stating i never called the four right. Even when i tried to explain i did make the call and to even ask my fellow group. Very off putting when the course is less than a mile from my home.

40 years later…

I was a junior member here before moving away and what a great surprise! The course has been massively upgraded with huge water hazards added and holes renumbered. The greens and fairways were in super condition despite the dry conditions. A great course and a good test of golf.
Will be back sooner next time…

Good course and good value food.

A good course with many and varied features. The undulating fairways and somtimes the tees bring extra unneeded challenges for the average golfer.

Beaut

Great course, well maintained. The greens are next level, challenging from the get go, not many that are flat. Well worth the money, will be back at some point.

Fabulous course, lots of interesting and varied holes

We played here twice over our weekend away at Healing Manor. What an enjoyable course. In pristine condition, lush and green. We enjoyed it so much we came back two days later instead of our original plan of playing elsewhere. Some really interesting elevated holes, lots of different challenges. Highly recommended.

A really attractive and challenging course

We were warmly welcomed by the proshop who were very accommodating and let us go out as soon as we arrived. Although the weather wasn't great the course was in good condition. The greens were still quick even after heavy rain. There was a ladies competition on but the pace of play was reasonable. Unfortunately due to the heavy rain we had to abandon our round but look forward to returning to enjoy the rest of the course. The office staff were great after I left my umbrella behind in finding and holding it for me. Special thanks to Zoe.

Course was in excellent condition , though greens were very firm making it difficult to stop approach shots on the greens
Only down side to the day, was getting stuck behind a society group that wouldn’t allow anybody through. Making it a very long round

Fantasy course and staff

We were working in the area ( we live in the midlands ) and we played Grimsby twice and nearby Waltham windmill once
Grimsby is a fantastic course in great condition considering the weather of late. We payed £30 when booked direct and £16.99 when booking through golf now
The course is well worth £30
The guy in the office I think his name was Josh was very helpful and accommodating very friendly and made us feel more than welcome as non members we would definitely play there again

Fantastic course & great value

Played on a Sunday afternoon. Course was busy but pace of play was great. The layout is fantastic and seems to have a bit of everything, long holes, risk reward holes, long par 3’s, short par 3’s. It is not an easy course, but is a real challenge! The greens were brilliant, as fast as any I have played this year. Was a breezy day which added to the challenge. At this price I will almost certainly be playing again soon. Club house is very traditional with friendly & helpful staff! Had a really good afternoon.

Great course,some hiccups

I played Grimsby and it was overall a good experience.I played with 3 others who were on hols together so it was good to meet a few fellow Golf Now players.
The proshop was ideal with a really friendly and welcoming staff member.
There were two issues which somewhat spoiled the experience.Firstly there is a new layout of holes on the front 9 which didn't work well for us as we didn't know where the next tee was on a couple of occasions ,GPS watches were all expecting par 5 and we were on Par4 which was a bit confusing .
Also we were approached by a member on 4 who told us to speed up.
This member was in a 2 ball,2 groups behind us,we had already let a lone player through and immediately behind us was a 3 ball, this was all a bit unfriendly and didn't serve his club well ,as a member heading out in a 2 ball at peak time surely some delays are to be expected.
Nevertheless I enjoyed the course and all the other people we met were spot on,I will be back.
