Great
Excellent course considering the appalling recent weather, well done team
Beautiful little course tucked away in Guildford
We played here on a Wednesday morning when the sun was shining and it was a lovely course to play.
Naturally being a mid week morning the course wasn't overly busy although we did have golfers in front and behind but well spaced so the pace of play was ideal.
Course is beautifully maintained and layed out for a challenging game of golf which more than makes up for it being a par 69.
Small 150 yard range with complimentary balls to warm up on, nets for the driver, lovely practice green with undulations and a chipping area. All you could need to get warmed up.
Club house is fine. Served us a beer at the end and that's all we needed.
All in all would highly recommend and will definitely be going back... Maybe even joining as a member.
Enjoyed the course, hated the etiquette
Torn with the review for this course. Played here a long time ago and was good to manage to get on an early afternoon tee time with a friend of mine for another visit. When we arrived we were warned about it being quite busy but were told there was only one group immediately ahead of us. We waited a few mins past our tee time but caught the group of 3 ahead (2 members and a guest) quickly who even made jokes and comments about the pace of play but didn’t let us through, even though we caught up to them on 4 different tee boxes. They blamed a couple of slow groups ahead of them but we couldn’t see any groups on the same or next tee etc. The round took a total of 4hrs 35 mins which I don’t feel should be happening.
The course, was in pretty great condition however and the greens were great and recently maintained ,if playing a little slow and the layout is a test of the game. Bare in mind, it’s pretty hilly so if you are walking it, be prepared.
Would recommend the course and layout along with conditions but just can’t justify the member etiquette we experienced.
Lovely track
Hilly, so some great vistas. Not too narrow or long but challenging greens and rarely a flat lie are the courses defense. A few dog walkers about but they all knew to watch out for golfers. Worth the £40 easily.
Played on a weekday and walking was 3.5hrs with no hold ups.
What a gem
Absolutely loved this course. Didn't realise it was there and within driving distance of London.
It's hilly, it's challenging, it's picturesque and the greens hold. Would highly recommend
Enjoyable game
Course was in very good condition.
Only having to cross road twice with fast moving traffic the only minus point.
Picturesque gem
Stunning views, superb greens! Credit to staff, dry fairways.
Little bit hilly! Will definitely be back!
Great condition course.
Last played Guildford gc over 20 years ago. Decided to play here as my home club was closed due to heavy rain. Guildford was in superb condition, particularly as the course had suffered a high amount of rainfall over the last few weeks. I would happily return and play, and the membership packages look very keenly priced.
Snails pace
Round was ruined by 4 ball of women who didn’t offer to let us through as a two ball that was clearly quicker than the said group…at least 13 holes spoiled by waiting for 5-10 mins at tees then again for second shots…spoiled the day
Love this course
Played my second round here today and once again really enjoyed it. Only issue today was the greens had been recently tined making putting difficult. Good Pro Shop and Catering facility. The changing room and toilets were spotless.
Drove 1.5 hrs, course was closed
Booked on Golfnow on Sunday night, all confirmed.
Drove from Salisbury to the golf course, only to find the course shut. No communication from Golfnow whatsoever.
Top couse
Loved it.. not a bad hole on the course and in great condition… great value for a quality course.. a lot of dog walkers was the only downside
