Nice course , great value
The layout of this course is great, friendly proshop.
Played at the end of march and it was in fairly good shape. Groundsmen were out in force doing course maintenance, drainage, tree pruning, grass cutting etc.
Great value at £25 per round.
Definitely be back this year.
Forward tees and had to play off mats which we had luckily taken. Course was dry enough to not need them and would have been good value for Money if proper tees were in play. Greens were in poor condition but it was
Obvious they had had some issues with disease. However this should have resulted in the price being lower.
Good course, badly kept.
Looks like they have really struggled to keep the course healthy during the winter. A nice enough course with a challenging layout but all the greens were very bobbly and diseased. Probably a great course in summer if they can save the greens and dry up the fairways. Pace of play was good and we had fun. We didn’t mind being told to play off mats but was disappointed to be asked to pay £4 to hire one, on top of a £35 fee. Plenty of better, drier courses in the area for £20 and under.
Give this a wide berth
The fairways were saturated, the rough was very boggy, the greens appeared diseased, patchy, rough, the first green actually moved under your feet. The course looked more lime a cheap municipal course like the council looked after. Very over rated and at £30 very over priced. The layout was good but I wouldn't even return here in summer.
Never again...
Worth going!
Me and my mate go back once a year (would love to go more if it wasn’t for the price). I got married at the same venue so I go back each year and love it every time. Course conditions are good, the back 9 are wet/muddy this time of year but expected. Staff were friendly as always. Just be aware you’ll need winter mats on fairways but can be rented out at pro shop.
Very good course 👍
Very good course, well maintained, good layout and nice greens, no one in front of us so was round in good time,
Only downside, as a past member it does become wet during the Winter,
Epic
Was a great challenging course deffo go back again.
Would be good when dry
First time playing here, if you’ve a tall vehicle don’t use it to travel there as they have a vehicle height barrier, course layout was good and interesting with some good technical holes. Down side to the course is the drainage. If it’s rained the day before or in the morning don’t play it as it’s pretty much water logged. Overall not a bad course but not the best I’ve played
Can’t fault the course
Can’t fault the course I’d still play again but we were waiting up to 15minutes of tee box’s really feel they should have some one keeping tract on pace of play especially when they host so many golf days or society’s otherwise it’s just not worth it.
Shaw Hill
Really lovely course enjoyed and highly recommended
Overpriced but a good challenge
Very expansive for what it is. One issue we had was that the long rough was excessive and a tee shot 5 yards off the fairway to a while to find. A few phantom lost balls as a result.
Greens were quite slow but it has been cocking down for 3 days in the week leading up to playing so can understand it
Little gem
Great undulating course. Played early June & parts of the course looking very dry. Greens were fast but in need of some attention (bobbly & patchy.
Overall I enjoyed the day but a little overpriced at £35
Lovely course
First time I’ve played this course I recommend you get a buggy lovely course to play will definitely go again
Beautiful course
We were lucky. We got a tee time around 3:30 and was allowed to play at little early so we got back just in time. The course is pristine, fairways and green were perfect. My only issue is the 13th green, near the 13th green from the tree on the right hand side are two massive holes in the floor, they are unseen and I fell down one and realty hurt my knee so for the older players be careful because I’m a fit 55 year old but anyone older or not as fit it could dislocate the knee or worse fracture the hip.
