Very nice, but very loud
This is a very nice course. Well kept up, great conditions. The only things I didn’t care for, was the noise from the planes taking off at the airport, and that there was no course map. The holes were spread out and on some of them, it was difficult to know what way you needed to go to get to the next tee. The plane noise isn’t something that they can change, but a few more signs along pathways, and/or a course map being available would be nice. Definitely recommend this course.
Excellent Links-Style Suburban Course
Short hitters who can hit their ball where they aim it and stay in the fairway will enjoy playing Victory Links. Longer hitters who spray the ball will have a more difficult time. The course has six sets of tees ranging from a championship-length 7,048 yards down to a beginning junior length of 2,834 yards. The tips play to a rating of 75.0 and slope of 134. Pick the correct tees for your ability. The fairways and greens are carved out of a mostly flat, marshy piece of land. Lateral hazards are a feature of almost every hole, but it should be noted that there are three distinct types of grassy or marshy areas on the course. In addition to the red or yellow-staked lateral and direct hazards, there are environmentally sensitive grassy areas marked with green-topped white stakes and there are also unmarked grassy areas. You are asked not to enter the environmentally sensitive areas and just take a free drop, but a ball in the unmarked areas must be played with the usual stroke and distance penalty if not found. Avoiding all of these areas should not be terribly difficult, as the fairways are generously wide and in most cases the preferred landing areas can be seen from the tees. The greens tend to be fairly large, and are very smooth, rolling true but not particularly fast. They are gently contoured without the severe breaks found on many links-style greens. Most of the greens are protected by at least one fairly deep bunker. The sand in these bunkers is nicely compacted, so it’s easy to thump the ball onto the green. The 18th green has something different, sand bunkers on the right and grass bunkers, deep swales with long grass, on the left. The flat terrain might lead one to think that this course will be easy to walk. However, in several instances there are very long distances between a green and the next tee, so I would recommend that the first-time player take a cart and then decide on walking subsequent rounds. My playing partners and I, none of whom had played the course previously, really enjoyed this course even though we lost quite a few balls and didn’t score as well as we’d hoped. We will definitely be back.
Suburbia golf
If you like links style golf, you will enjoy this course Close to the cities and a few major roadways, you can get into and out of this course quickly and still be plenty close to everything else. This was a nice course with great conditions. Staff was friendly, ranger tried to help find an errant tee shot. Its not one of my top tier courses but I would play here again. Amenities aren't great but are average, small clubhouse but they do have an outdoor food shack. Pace was okay, A slow foursome was in front of us with a fast 5some right behind us. Definitely felt rushed. Greens were great, sandy and quick. Felt like I was in Arizona. If you are in town, you should give it a try.
Excellent links style layout with lots of great driving holes, large generous landing areas, most with an opening through the fairway, and smooth rolling greens you can actually make putts on. Because of the wind and the open layout its a different course every time you play it. Course conditions are excellent even after the recent hailstorm everything looked great to me. The course is home to the 3M championship qualifier and the back tees will test golfers of even the highest level. From the front tees it can be a fun but challenging course for juniors or newer players provided you play from the right tees. The course is staffed by friendly knowledge employees and the rates are some of the best around especially if you take advantage of the patron card. The actual course is a landscape painters dream and when you stand on the tee box you know exactly what to do even if you cant always do it. Always a good day when playing at the links
Love This Place!
Been playing this course for a few years with my kid, and it is great. Challenging for hacks like me, and forgiving enough for kids and beginners. If you live nearby, take advantage of the patron card specials! Really a fun course, their pro, instructors, and staff are all top-notch.
Victory links review
Upon arrival there was nice practice facilities that included a driving range, putting green, and a cool putting course. When it came to the course the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all well kept and nice. The layout of the course was fun yet challenging to play, I also enjoyed the few short par 4's and par 5's.
Great course close to home
Great course for early in the season tee boxes, fairways and greens were great. Pace was great as we had no one in front or in back of us, BUT when you call on a Wednesday and make a tee time for Saturday at 10:03 and get there at 9:30 am and they tell you that you don't have a tee time that will upset anyone. As of the mistake that was made they got us out at 10:30am and comped us both a bucket of balls for the ranges to occupy us til our now 10:30 tee time.
Will definitely come back as the course was a great challenge for the average golfer.
