Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club

About
Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club is in the heart of some of Arizona's most dramatic Sonoran Desert terrain, you would hardly be able to guess that you're only about an hour from Phoenix. The golf course tumbles across rolling hills, stretching to more than 7,000 yards from the back tees. Each hole provides a different challenge thanks to the fluctuating elevations, which are complemented by strategically placed bunkers. You won't find too many water hazards but you're in for a challenge where it does come into play. One of the most notable water holes is the par-3 13th, which has a massive lake hugging the right side of the green. It's followed by another water hole, a par 5 with ponds on either side. The appeal of the golf course goes beyond the challenging layout, Wickenburg Ranch offers scenic views of Vulture Peak and Prescott National Forest as well as mild temperatures almost year-round.

Gem in the Desert
Have played here 4 times as a Troon guest and always impressed. Greens, fairways and tees in excellent condition. Good variety of holes and you will use all your clubs. Staff always friendly and helpful. Drinks and dinner on the patio overlooking the 18th is a must. My only complaint is the in season charge for Troon reciprocal went from $80 to $150. Nice to be able to play the course but not a benefit (as Troon advertises) when you pay the regular guest rate.
Every hole is an interesting challenge
I really can’t find anything that wasn’t excellent.
Great Course
I finally got to Wickenburg Ranch to play Big Wick. I’ve heard so many good things about this course and they were all right about how good a course this is. I love the course design and the scenery around the course. The grass around the course is in great condition, especially the greens, which were fantastic. The staff was very friendly. The only complaint I would have about the course conditions would be the bunkers. They were hard dirt and not any different from most desert courses in the Phoenix area that charge way less to play. For a top course managed by Troon and as expensive as it is to play there should be good sand in the bunkers. I wish I could have also played Lil Wick, but it is a members only course now. It’s expensive so I may never get to play it again, but glad I got to experience this fantastic course.
Wickenburg Ranch
Fun course with a challenging layout and super fast greens. Pace of play was a huge issue: VERY slow. Be ready for a nearly 5 hour round.
Best greens in the country
This is our second time playing this course. We travel from Michigan and absolutely love playing Wickenburg Ranch. Hope to play it again soon!
Great tee box view on every hole, spectacular
Special place played for first time and drove back the next to play again.
One of my favourites
Not looking forward to the day when it goes private and I won’t get the chance to play.
Awesome!
One of the best golf courses I have played and wonderful people.
Storm on the horizon
Monsoon kept at a distance throughout the round then a deluge while we enjoyed a dinner in the restaurant. All facets of the course, facility and development are top notch. Fun variety of holes including downhill, uphill, left and right. Par 3 distance variety as well as a couple of challenging par 5's. Greens rolled true although due to the monsoons this year, they were a little spongy. Pace of play was 4 hours which was fine as the first 6 holes it was cart path only then lifted for the final 12. The ranger was right on top of the conditions and released the cart path only as soon as he could (prior night storms). I hope to play this again soon!
Worth the Drive. Amazing. Just Fix Ballmarks
Blown away by every facet of this facility. I will definitely come back. The only gripe is probably aimed more at the regulars or people playing the course. Fix your ball marks! The course conditions are the best I have seen in Phoenix area but I think more attention needs to be paid to the ball marks. For having limited play and just unbelievable green quality this stood out as an issue to our group.
WR is the best
I play a lot of golf courses. From elephant rocks to rancho manana and Quintero
Big Wick is just the best experience every time
The course the views the amenities and the staff are a 5 star
I will be back
Great day at WR
I chose a great day to play at WR. Staffs are friendly throughout. The 3 ladies at the club house were very cheerfully checking me in. The starter was very helpful explaining the course layout and conditions. And yes, beside hole 17 (just finished aeration) the course was in perfect condition. Greens were fast but roll truly. I enjoyed playing all 18 holes, especially the par 3s. Will love to come back and play again before it becomes a private club.
