Dubsdread Golf Course

About
Dubsdread Golf Course is a popular choice for beginning and intermediate golfers. Designed in 1923, it is the oldest public course in the Orlando area. The course is tight with a short, traditional layout that features "postage stamp" style greens that are heavily bunkered. There are also elevated greens that are slightly sloped. Dubsdread Golf Course's fairways are narrow and there are also water hazards that come into play on some holes. One particularly difficult water hazard comes into play on the 12th hole, which is a par 3 that requires a tee shot to a green that is well protected by bunkers.

Great greens
Greens were in great shape considering the drought we are in... Great restaurant here.
Nice course worth a look
I play this course throughout the year and it is usually in great shape, especially the greens and fairways. However, this day, the greens were rough and showing signs of weeds. I'm ok with so-so tee boxes if they need to save money on upkeep. However, many of the boxes look terrible. I know there has been a drought and the heat has arrived. Perhaps this is the problem and some rain will help.
Still a great public course.
Course conditions
The course needs LOTS of water .
Grass was thin in the fairways. It seemed like you would always have a lie where it was hard pan, or sandy, or hardy any ant grass.
The track was decent but landing areas seemed to be blinded somewhat , at least from the back tees .
Pretty Darn Good for $60
Greens played fast on 4/20/25.
It's been super dry here in Central Florida and the fairways showed it. But, unless the city wants to pay for that kind of watering it is what it is.
Pro shop had a new batch of gear in that was pretty good for the 100th anniversary.
This course gets a lot of play.
Greens were in great shape, better than a few other courses I’ve played this week that cost a lot more.
Great value, some narrow landing areas, nice restaurant for after.

Course in great condition! Great value for the price. Only complaint is that staff member in pro shop was very rude. Fortunately, the starter was much more friendly and helpful.
Best value around
Great older track, not built just to sell homes. It’s tight, short, has good conditioning, and is the best value in the area. Often has better greens compared to other courses around Orlando that you’d pay double or triple for.
Greens are in great shape
Some rough patched in fairways but greens are in great shape despite the recent hot weather here the last few weeks.
Nice track
It’s a nice track in decent condition, with friendly staff. Pace of play was 3.5 hours! The greens were quick. If it were not in Orlando, with so many other courses nearby that are in better condition, it would have been rated higher. If you are in Orlando for a golf trip, it’s a good course to start on. If you live here and don’t want to play at really nice courses that have excessive charges for in-season rates, then this is a great option.
My home course, if I had one
Course is short but very challenging, you will be able to use most of the clubs in bag, fun course
Older course in good shape, fun to play.
This is a course going back a while, nice history to it and great restaurant after your round. In good shape, some rough patches, greens are good rolling fast. No ranger, this would help a lot, there are some slow players that need encouragement so that everyone has a good time on the course. Some players behind, hitting into us and NOT calling it, NOT cool, don't appreciate it, not our fault if people in front are slow, be more courteous.
Solid course
Tough soild course for the $ and the area….the curse is a little short in yardage but plays tough from either set of tees. Should enjoy the round at dubs!!
Nice Course in the City
Very well kept course, and fun to play. Only downside is the pace of play. They stack the tee times, took 4 1/2 hours to play 18. Wait on most holes. All in all I would play again for sure!
