Got to play here after being selected in the lottery of people who volunteered at the Sr. PGA event. First time playing this exclusive private club. Have walked it many times previously at either PGA or Sr. PGA events.
Course conditions all around were excellent bordering on immaculate. The course is laid out over rolling hills. Numerous holes have lateral hazards down 1 side plus several lakes that come into play on numerous holes. The holes are tree lined and if you get crooked, penalty strokes are going to be a constant reminder that this is not an easy course for the average player. The primary rough is thick, the native rough is a likely lost ball.
The greens putted great, firm and medium fast. Lots of subtle undulations, it was not uncommon to have a putt that went one way, then the other, then back the way it started at the end. But no huge tiers or mounds, the greens were very fair.
Several holes are fairly tight, but overall, the course did not play as tight as I thought it would. Having a fore caddy assisted our group find balls on some of the semi blind or dogleg tee shots, plus he was a real asset on some of the greens.
Customer service was excellent from all encountered.
Highly recommended if you get the opportunity to play.
