Ponderosa Golf Course

About
Ponderosa Golf Course may have a short layout but it features the challenges of a full-length championship course. The golf course sprawls across mountainous terrain that provides plenty of elevation changes throughout. The fairways are lined with towering trees and the greens are undulating, making accuracy a top priority in doing well. There are two dogleg holes and one hole has an elevated green to watch out for. There are also bunkers scattered throughout. The golf course provides excellent short game practice as well as being a great round for beginning to intermediate players. Ponderosa Golf Course also has practice facilities for golfers to use including chipping and putting greens and driving nets.

Great price for the Area
9 hole course, greens were good except for the 9th, small repair going on.
Some tight shots with tree lined fairways( nice challenge )
Then the last couple holes open up a little but.
9th Hole par 5 tree in middle of fairway, about 150 out. Nice challenging hole.
Pro shop staff was good.
Excellent course for seniors...
At 80, 9-12 holes are achievable for me. This is a very nice layout and it's in great condition. l
Slow greens, some need love
Greens are slow, but most are looking better after this winter, hoping they can roll them soon. The first green is a mess, mostly dirt including the approach. The 9th green is always soggy. Flags don’t get moved much so areas get worn. Same with the tee markers, those aren’t moving much either so there’s plenty of divots. The fairways and rough are looking the best they have in years and it’s the only affordable place in town
Nice morning round
Greens are looking much better. The first is still struggling but the rest have really come back. They are slow but rolling smooth and the breaks are starting to play. Best value in town.
S L O W greens
Slowest greens I can remember playing.
Nice views, rest of course was in good condition.
Ponderosa morning tee time
Played the 8:10 time slot. Wet course in the morning, narrow fairways and sloped greens. Great condition throughout the course
Always a great course
The east course is not particularly challenging but it’s always a joy to play. Well managed and right now generally in great shape, for a public muni this is probably the best deal in the greater Tahoe/reno/carson city area.
Nice Course For Anyone
First time playing this course. It was in very nice shape, fairways were great, greens were in very good shape, sand bunkers could use some work as well as the tee boxes. #9 was the hole I liked. Tee shot had to cut as it was a dogleg right. Second shot had a tree middle of fairway, you have to go left of it, nice set-up. I think it is one of the better 9 hole courses I have played and I have played a lot of them. One thing I have to say, I got $10 off a hot deal so to play it was $30 for 9 holes walking.
