Ute Creek Golf Course

About
Formerly a cornfield, Robert Trent Jones Jr. utilized the natural area and the import of over 600,000 cubic yards of dirt to create the challenging Ute Creek Golf Course. The championship course has a traditional links-style layout that is said to challenge even the most avid of golfers. The public, 18-hole golf course offers 7,167 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. It features several water hazards, especially on the back nine holes, with five lakes situated on the course and two streams that wind through it. Ute Creek Golf Course's well-bunkered greens and undulating, multi-level fairways provide more interesting elements to the game.

Windy day at Ute
Well the course it self is in good shape for winter golf. The wind on this day was rough along with is being a cold wind first thing in the morning. The wind died down a bit in the early afternoon, but we pick a cold day to play. Never the less any day out on the golf course is a good day.
I know it's only March, but...
I've always had complaints about the same things with this course, regardless of the time of year.
Sand traps, greens and pace of play.
No notification that the greens had been sanded and tee boxes aerated still equals full price greens fees?
Rocks the size of golf balls and marbles in the traps destroy your clubs!
The greens are always beat to heck.
I understand that this course gets tons of play, but management could do a better job with golfer awareness and respect for the course.
A few signs and free, cheap divot tools at check in, would go a really long way.
The course was mostly empty, but a few beginner groups that know nothing about playing through, turned it into a nearly 5 hour round.
Again, proper management would really help.
Great course
Very nice greens. Clean fairways. Pace of play was awesome. Just right course for intermediate golfer. Not to hard but not to easy either. 2nd best course I’ve played in Colorado
NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL
This course is exactly what you would expect. It’s just the exact same as any other municipal golf course there is nothing special about it. I can’t believe that they can even somewhat get away with charging this much money for golf it boggles my mind. The course is among the top 3 most boring I have ever played and is in terrible shape. To make it even worse it took 5 hours to play here on a Tuesday. DO NOT PLAY HERE EVER.
Ute Creek Adventure
The course was xomewhat challenging. Their big problem were the condition of the traps. Packed muddy sand with a lot of rocks did not help. Would be good to turn them over more often.
nice course for the price!
very nice course, but the play was slow and not cart friendly. you have to drive the cart around and park it, just to walk all the way back to the greens on almost every hole. I probably should have just walked the course.
Pace of play
I am new to Colorado (Denver area) and it is hard to get used to the slow pace of play. I would have given this course a much better overall rating if the majority of the time we weren’t waiting on the tee box behind a group with another group in the fairway and a 4th group on the green.
