Great Course - love the new greens...
Greens were replaced in Oct 2023 and we loved they way they roll. I will say the conditions were dry and the greens were very hard - couldn't get a shot to stick on them at all which made approach shots challenging but the greens really rolled true. Would enjoy with a little more moisture to soften them up. Pace of play slowed way down at one point with no ranger monitoring the situation but then sped back up after a foursome ahead of us quit at the turn. Very scenic course - played in late March before fairways and tee boxes had grown in - would be that much nicer after the fairways get a chance to grow in (guessing by late April?). Had a great time...

Greens are excellent.
Tee boxes not so good
Fairways mix with good and bad.
Another Sweet GA State Park Course
The course opens with a couple of lamb-like holes, but the lion-like holes rule the day. The elevation changes offer both refreshing views and frustrations when shots just a few yards from the middle of the fairway might roll 50 yards into the edge of the woods. That’s just the nature of the beast at Highland Walk. The greens are premium. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You’ll find lots to like At this state park course, along with all of its sister courses far and near.
Hard Labor Creek is a gift from above
I’ve loved this course for several decades. It’s totally worth the 35-minute drive for me. Greens are incredible. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Booking issues and course was surprisingly wet
Several groups turned up with the same tee time on Saturday morning.. Created back up on first tee but the game took 4.30 hours so not terrible
They put in new greens a while ago and they are firm... Course was surprisingly wet despite the lack of rain in recent weeks..
13 is really a bit of a disaster
Which generates my favorite pet peeve.
Land the ball one foot short of the green and it spins back and land the ball on green and takes an enormous bounce.. Impossible to front pins..
Course is starting to green up. They had the best lush mats on all the Par 3's to save the tees.. Wise decision..
Awesome
Given the conditions at the beginning of February, course was in EXCELLENT condition!
Well maintained beautiful course
Haven’t played Hard Labor Creek in a few years. I was happy to find it is still well maintained. The carts now have gps with distances which is always nice. It is easy to lose balls especially in the Fall so try to keep it in the fairway!
Great Course and Good Conditions
If you are looking for a course that challenges all parts of your game. Driving, approach shots, chipping, putting and course management, this is it!!!!
You can't just bomb driver or hit it in the middle of the greens. You need to think your way around this course.
The conditions are still very good. Firm, fast greens and nice fairways.
We will be putting this course in our rotation regularly!
Beautiful Course
I really Enjoyed this course. It was beautiful with unique features. Driving range barely had any grass to warm up…wish they had mats instead. For food, it is lacking. They do have hot dogs that were good! They have a variety of snacks and different drinks available by a can or plastic bottles. I wish I could play it again!
5-Star Course
Everything you want on a golf course is here. Greens and fairways are excellent bordered by challenging rough. New golf carts with GPS are a nice addition. It's worth the long drive to play.
The overall course conditions
The course conditions was well maintained and the pace of play was slow for most of the round. The course is worth the value.
