Overpriced - Some Really Fun Holes
Played it on a Saturday - late afternoon (445pm) with a buddy. For what the course is - to charge $56 is a bit steep. We asked if there was a twilight rate and they said it started at 6pm, which is the latest I've ever heard of a twilight rate. Conditions were wet, but not soaked. Greens were slow. My buddy has played it before and said Greens were usually slow. Felt that had they been faster, it would've made the experience better. Sand traps were nice, and had real sand in them, which was good to see.
In terms of layout - there are some great holes. #6 is the signature hole - a legit island green par 3. That hole is why I recommend everyone play it. The final three hole stretch of 16-18 is pretty good as well. Mixture of risk, reward on each hole. Overall, the course isn't extremely difficult. Misses are more penalized toward the green than off the tee.
Worth playing once, but if the price stays that high I probably won't play it again.
All in all, I enjoyed the round, but felt it was overpriced for what it is.
Pleasantly Surprised
Didn't expect much. but was extremely impressed with the routing and layout. very little elevation change, but the layout still posed a fun challenge. Happy I played here!
Cherry Hill Fort Wayne
Great course have always loved to play this course is nice I love greens and ISLAND green nice 135-45 shot, true island green, course is in nice shape for no rain, all summer!, Will play it many more times....lrmill01
Really Enjoyed this course
In town for work. Picked this course and was glad I did. The course was great fun and in good condition. Even in the fall with work being done on fairways the course was in great shape.
Downgraded course..
Not sure when but they ditched the electric carts for gas (noisy) and also lost the GPS (yea I know, who needs it but it is a neat neat toy)
Rates? I am from the southwest and $100 green fees and xtra for a cart are the norm.. $40 for green fees and cart? amazing to me.. apparently not so much for locals..
Bunkers... sad
Pace of play... ok
No clubhouse or drink service
No rangers
I miss dress codes in golf..
needs a clubhouse
Great shape, but needs a clubhouse.
Beer and wine only. Sandwiches and candy.
Despately needs nicer facilities.
Reasonable course with some challenges.
I like the staff and the course lay out is fun but challenging on some holes. The only issue I have with the condition of the course is some of the greens. There has been a few grass issues on the greens of a few holes and the course is working on fixing it. It makes some challenging putts and rough rolls that you aren't able to judge. I enjoy playing this course overall and the famous island hole is always great to play.
Not worth price of money
Mayes this numerous times in the past and it was in great condition...played yesterday and paid 39 dollars where they do not have gps anymore and didn't tell you what number the pins were. They also airated the greens a week a go and they were in bad shape. During a two week stretch they should cut the cost for airation.. Played 18 holes in 5 hours. It was pathetic very unhappy with quality of course
Kind of cold, rare empty course, great pace of play.
Only played back nine. Course was in much better shape than usual. They have a tough time keeping the greens in good shape and the bunkers have a lot of room for improvement. Currently the course is in good shape, specially this early in the season. Only minimal patchwork on greens. Bunkers terrible.
Great golf
This is a must play.. The rate is more then fair, the staff is few.. T times are called out but no starter or ranger.. Play when it's not busy.. Or get in line and say I'm next.
Good condition for April
For this early, course was in good shape. Greens were in better shape than expected. They've got #14 and #15 greens on the mend, better than they were all of last year. Some bunkers need more sand.
Golf
Loved the course was in great condition even with all of the recent rain Thumbs up!
Great condition and layout!
Everything about our round at Cherry Hill was first rate. The course is a beautiful layout with interesting holes and a challenge for every level golfer. I will be back!
July 12, 2014
We had a 9:53am tee time but didn't tee off until almost 10:30am. We weren't informed of any delay when we checked in. The course design is nice, but the greens were inconsistent. some ran fast, while others were slow. It made it tough to gauge your putting. also, the greens were rock hard making it very difficult to hold your approach shot.
The bunkers were poor, at best. There was very little sand, if you can call what was in them sand. It was more like hitting off of dirt.
Greens need work
This is a very nice course, and the majority of it was in pretty good shape considering the rain we have had....
However, many of the greens were beat up and 14 and 15 (i think) were so beat up and diseased that they were barely even puttable. You can tell they're obviously working on them, but they have a long way to go.
Overall, the staff was great and let me get out early as a single for their 5 pm deal and I didn't catch up to a single person.
I would play here again, but definitely wouldn't pay full price until they fix those couple greens.
Great deal!
Great value for the money, course in great shape after a week of lots of rain.
Cherry Hill
Overall great course. There was some standing water but did have heavy rainfall the day before.
Good price, average at best experience
Greens were terrible with aeration and burn out.
Caught up to senior foursome, refused to let me play through, I quit after 16 holes due to slow play
Could be a lot better
Guy working register seemed upset I booked on "golfnow." New gas carts are LOUD. Bunkers contain no sand, but do have rocks & are like a little league diamond. Greens are hard & hold little; have diseased grass too. It was $29 for 18 & a cart, so ok w/price. Lots of goose droppings too. If they put some $ into course it could be a neat course.
Fantastic, well built course. We played at a great rate!
The course was in incredible shape, especially for this time of the year.
