Grand Layout Grand Greens Grand Round
Course has a terrific layout that is like riding a roller coaster over the hilly terrain. The greens are modern, undulating, and in great shape. Course has a couple of funky holes, but is still an Indian Hidden Gem.
Grand Oak
Great course, just a couple holes that I consider a little ridiculous and make it a bit challenging.
Always enjoyable playing here.
Great staff! Great layout! Fun course to play . Greens nice and smooth. Especially for a 90 degree hot and humid day. The staff is always very friendly. Par 3 ‘s are awesome. The only knock to this course would be hole 5, the par 5 the second shot is a head scratcher . Other than that this is a must play course.
Grand Oak
Fantastic course! Reminds me of courses in the South. Up and down, around bends. Course was very interesting and just challenging enough! In great shape for a wet March day! Staff was very friendly and accommodating! Thanks to Pro Mark Martin and his gang. Will definitely go back this summer!
Great layout, good conditions, exceptional value
Played this course for the first time and was pleasantly surprised that the course layout and conditions were much, much better than the cost to play would indicate. Every hole is unique with significant elevation changes but it seemed that most of my fairway shots were played from fairly level lies. Hills kinda funneled the shots to the flats maybe (?). Greens were excellent, tees not so good but fairways were in good shape and I played the ball down with no issues. Some of the rough has browned but is still playable. Extremely helpful and friendly clubhouse staff. Decent, full-length practice range (with real, not limited flight balls) to warm up. The course is an over 30 minute drive for me, during which I drive by other accessible courses, but I'll definitely return.
Very Good Conditions
Grand Oak is in very good shaper right now. Nice staff and a good day!
Holes 3 & 5 are not the best but everything else very strong.
A great challenge
Play here once a week if not every other week. Course was in a lot better shape this yr than in yrs past. It is challenging to a beginner. More often than not your 2nd shot off tee has a up or down hill lie making it tough. Pace of play is great everytime i have been there. All and all one best courses ive played in tri state. Will be back every week hopefully.
Very well maintained but too hilly
Greens were faster than they appeared, leaves were kept at a minimum considering how many trees are on the course you can tell the staff have been working hard on keeping them cleared. Way too hilly for my taste.
great course
played this on a Friday morning with a buddy. flew around the course in great time. good challenge, fun setup, and will definitely be back again
good variety of holes
Don't need to be long...but you better be straight...greens are good shapes and good condition...very enjoyable
Pace of Play was Terrible
It took 5 hours and 45 minutes to play 18, course did little to help pace of play by slow golfers and no compensation to the time wasted waiting on every tee box, even after completing a Par 3. Do not go to this course if you want a round under 4 hours.
This course has great features
We play it several times a year. Hidden gem...I guess this revue is too short..
Pleasant surprise
Challenging course with no two holes layed out the same. Rolling hills throughout the course makes second and third shots difficult due to rarely having a level lie. Every green is small and seems like you are always putting downhill. Better bring your "A" short game or your score will soar. The only negative is the cart paths are in need of repair.
fun course
course was in good condition and I enjoyed the elevation changes.
great course,great time
Grand Oaks is a great course,it is rarely crowded and is priced friendly.A must play course if you are in Ohio,Kentucky,Indiana area.
Really enjoyed the course.
Enjoyed changes in elevation and club selection on a number of holes. Fairways and greens were in great shape overall. On a second round we would play much differently. Pace of play was a little slow and required patience due to blind shots.
rolling terrain - lots of elevation changes
course was in great shape. greens were relatively slow so took a couple holes to get the correct speed when putting. staff was extremely friendly and helpful as we were first-timers so that was very much appreciated. great value!
A very enjoyable golf experience.
This course offers an imaginative layout over some very hilly terrain, featuring a good mix of elevated tees, par-3 water holes, and some short risk/reward par 4s. Length is not an issue here and the fairways are generally inviting. But precision is also required because the rough is challenging and often skirts the well-kept, true-rolling greens.
Nice Course, but bring your game
The course was in great shape when I played it in late June, 2013. There was plenty of rain this year so I imagine most courses are looking good. There are some nice scenic views that make this a step up from many other courses.
I played the back tees and it played long. The greens are very well guarded by water (several ponds), bunkers, and drop-offs. You need to be accurate for this course, especially on the approach shots. You definitely want to plan your shots so you have an easy approach, sometimes its not worth going after the hole if its a tight shot.
Overall, I enjoyed the course. The staff was friendly and the course was wide open when I played. One annoying thing at the time I played was there were groups starting at 10 instead of from 1, which caused some hang ups for other groups. This is never good management.
Please Note: I don't give 4 or 5 stars unless the course has something unique about it...and never a 5 unless it offers ALL the amenities plus something that you won't forget.
