Lacking Late Season Upkeep
Course was in poor condition during my late season round: bunkers abandoned, leaves everywhere, long greens and even longer fairways. Course has a superb layout with some big elevation changes on holes and terrific green locations. Conditions hold this one back in my book.
Vineyards
Love the course and also love using Golf Now - they are the best. !!!!!!!!Thanks
Good value
For your money this is a good course to play. Great course for a new golfer to learn has some holes that are challenging and some that are less difficult. The greens are always in great shape. The fairways need some work but are still playable.
Needs maintenance
Staff were friendly, layout was nice, but quality of course did not match the price to pay. Un-cut fairways were impossible to differentiate from rough. For someone who has not played the course, there were holes where you had to guess your line because it was impossible to pick out the center of the fairway, or even which green you were heading for.
one of the worst courses that i ever played
Last year I played this course. Lost 13 balls on the FAIRWAYS. Vineyard? More like a pasture. I thought I would try it again this year. Maybe things got better. Drove an hour to get here. I saw the tenth fairway before I pulled in and I should've known. Nothing changed. My backyard is cut shorter than this course. Dandelions all over the course. Some greens were pitted. Poor signage (I.e. 12th hole said it was a hard dogleg right, it's straight). Poor irrigation. Water is stagnant and mosquitoes galore! Course it's designed to punish you if go. Slightly off the fairway. I will NEVER play this course again.
Save your balls, save the time going to anger management classes. Play elsewhere. I recommend playing Belterra our Dearborn CC
Great cours
Greens are the best, fairways are pretty good, some leaves and longer grass. Overall nice layout
Nice course in a relaxed setting
I enjoyed my first round at The Vinyard. The staff was very friendly and the course was in decent shape with the exception of a few of the tee boxes. The greens rolled true and were in great shape, though a bit on the slow side.
The layout was interesting and provided a good mix of easy and difficult holes for an average golfer like me. I plan to return soon.
Was not what I expected
I drove over an hour to reach this course. Got there and decided to play the back nine because it offered me a challenge. Hole 10 is a par 5 565 yard hole with the fairway grass height half way up the face of my iron. The green was nowhere in sight. Hilly like ocean waves at Myrtle Beach. Hole 11 was a par 3 that punishes you. Tee off between narrow stretch of trees. Fairway is a downward slope to pond. Hole 14 is an elevated tee, over a pond through a narrow cut through trees THEN there's a dog leg to the left. Hit through a valley then up to an elevated green that you can't see until you're on top of it. Other holes were not as long but were tough. There were times that I was playing a cow pasture than a vineyard. Talked to others at work about this course afterwards and they said "Yeah, played there ONCE." If you don't go back, that's saying something.
Nice place to play
Vineyard is a very laid back common folk type of course which makes it a pleasant place to play. Not a very challenging course which makes it all the better. The front is very inviting for those who hit it long, it creates many scoring opportunities. However, the back is a little more challenging with tight fairways and many tee to green elevation changes. The staff there are very good people and they have worked wonders to get the course back into good shape
Beautiful course and friendly staff
Enjoyed playing here. Staff friendly and course well maintained
Go somewhere else
Unless you are just looking for plain cheap, skip this one and go somewhere else. The staff is friendly but the course itself is in terrible, and I mean terrible shape. The only saving grace is the view of the country and the greens are well taken care of. Otherwise, you might as well tee it up in your own back yard. The tee boxes are full of weeds and also bare dirt spots. The fairways are not treated and mowed regularly. The sad part is that this could be a really nice course if the right people could come in and care enough to make it that way. I'm just not sure the desire to be excellent is there.
Wide open
First time playing. Got right out and only one on course at 930. Course is open which is nice for high handicappers . Many scenic holes to enjoy. Green were absolutely great except they keep them way too long. Very slow!!!
Biggest problem is dandelions everywhere including fairways. I lost lots balls including in the fairways. Tee boxes really bad shape.
Overall I had good experience and would go back.
Last issue golf now listed course as 16 miles away. I arrived 45 miles later. That is ridiculous.
Nice time
Lots of long 4 par holes water, and dog legs. Had a great time.
Not bad. I have played a lot worse.
Tee Boxes in bad shape. Fairways in good shape. Greens were in great shape, although a little slow. Like the layout. Has some challenging holes. Worth playing again.
good course in the country
the course has wide open tee areas to hit the ball ,great for moderate/beginners, the fairways had plenty of room to work with, a little bit hilly but not to bad, the greens were great shape, the worker gave us free hot dogs and free refills on our sodas, wasn't many people on course so we could take our time enjoying the course at our speed, about a hour from cincinnati
Needs help
The greens are great. The rest of the course was overgrown. Fairways were not recently cut and the tee boxes were way over grown 4" grass in the tee boxes. Very unfortunate because it could be a nice track.
Don't waste your time.
I play two times a week and all over the Cincinnati area. If you want to play this course you might as well stay home. Honesty the fairways were not cut they looked like my backyard. The Greens were the slowest I've ever seen. Bought some chips at the turn and they expired in 2012. The single worse golf course I've ever been to in my life. I had an eagle, several Pars. So I shot well but don't waste your time or effort playing here. The foursome in front of us had cut-offs shirts on.
Nice course in the country
Not a bad course to play considering there is a Tom Fazio designed course just a few miles away. Fairways and greens were nice as well as the staff. Good lower priced course. Would play it again.
