The Bath Golf Club

About
Originally opened in 1932, Bath Golf Club has hosted generations of Maine golfers. For many years the course was only nine holes, but over the years it has undergone numerous renovations, including the addition of a back nine in 1994. Bath is known for its long history of shipbuilding, which is why all of the holes are named after famous sea vessels. Despite the changes over the decades, the golf course has maintained its traditional layout and classic character. The challenging greens feature a variety of tiers and undulations and more often than not they are framed with strategically placed bunkers. The golf course finishes with a dramatic uphill hole that leads to the clubhouse, a converted 18th-century farmhouse. A rock-filled creek bisects the fairway on this par 4 and the second shot is to a semi-blind green flanked by bunkers to the left and right.

Excellent Greens
The course certainly challenges all aspects of your game and shot decision making. Greens are not flat and can have great pin locations, my favorite course for putting! Staff is friendly and usually have a good pace.
Has seen better days
Bath country club was one of the best 9 hole courses in the state. Since adding 9 new holes the course seems gimmicky and not at all like the praise-worthy course of the past. The 11th hole has a forced carry with a very small area to land before bouncing into the woods. The 11th through the 13th are jammed in where there was not enough land to accommodate them.
The greens, which were once a delight to play on and the best defense of this short course were virtually unplayable.
I would not recommend playing Bath until maintenance improves significantly.
great play
This was our first time this year playing this course and the first time under new ownership and I am very impressed at the changes that have taken place. The course was in great shape for being such a wet spring. The greens were fast and smooth. There were some wet spots but all in all very good play. The kitchen was a big change finally great food and great people working in the bar and kitchen. We will be going back
PUSHING OPENING DAY
I just retired from the Army--my last two assignments were GA and AZ. I have retired here in the Bath area. I am getting very impatient with cold-snow -wind and mud--yet I went to Bath CC to give it a shot For the time of year--the fact that only a week ago there had been a foot of snow on the ground---the place was in fine shape and you could tell the crew was eager to just make it better.
I am optimistic to give this place when there is some sun and heat and less wind.
Bath in the Fall
It was very windy but the course is in good shape for late fall up here in Maine. You may have to clear a path to putt the greens were in good shape. Have played here a few time this summer and always enjoy it. .
First time at Bath
I enjoyed the course for the most part. Only downside was the greens, everyone seemed to be a different speed and there was 2 types of grass growing on them. Which is weird, but I enjoyed the layout and conditions throughout the rest of the golf course. Beware if your playing the course for the first time, I got lucky and paired with locals. Without there knowledge it's hard to judge your lines off some of the tees with driver.
Good Friends and Golf
Great fun with good friends from VT earlier this week at Bath Golf Club. We played in the afternoon. Perfect weather, beautiful old course. Cocktails on the porch at sunset after. We will recommend this course to anyone looking for a friendly, fun place to play golf. Excellent value.
Back at School
Back at school and got a quick 9 in with my brother before he went back home, Will play again .
Bath CC
A nice course that is rarely crowded. They cut out a lot of trees which increased the pace of play dramatically. Make sure you hit an iron off of the first tee, the water is closer than you think, being downhill.
Nice greens
First hole lookout for the water on the left side And in front of green.
Greens were in excellent shape, but tricky.
A nice place to play. Several interesting holes, and a couple of weird ones where experience would benefit. The greens were in good condition. Green speeds were good, but speed was affected by slope more than one would have expected. Subtle breaks when the ball slowed that were hard to see.
The traps had many stones in the sand. Not a good feature.
A real welcome back
I spent 15 years in Bath as a teacher and a coach. I come back once every summer to visit friends and family. I was excited to play the course and enjoyed the round very much. A lot of trees are gone and cut back. Course was in good shape. Struggled with the front nine and scored on the back but for $20 with a cart, under three and a half hours, it was a must play. I would recommend this course.
Great conditions
We got stuck behind a 3 some walking and we were riding with 2, so it was a slower round. The conditions are excellent though and staff was nice. At the price I paid online I have no complaints. Thank you golfnow for adding dick Harris courses and getting better pricing! My confidence is renewed as your upgrades are far better than a year ago!
Maine golf
Played the course with my wife. We were a bit apprehensive about playing the Bath Country Club because there were few reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course and it's design. We both play regularly and found the course moderately challenging, but in pretty good condition. It we were in the Bath area again, we would definitely play Bath Country Club again.
