Glen oaks
Tee boxes mostly dirt, Fairways sparse and cut very tight. I do like layout. Very tight better hit ball somewhat straight. Course knowledge is good. We played with someone who new course and on some holes was very helpful. Just had a poor day.hit ball bad but a nice course and will play again. Greens had been aerated which just made them slow. Overall a good course just need to hit ball better
Don't book through golf now, it's 30 dollars more expensive than the tee time truly is.
It costs 71 dollars and change to book a tee time for ONE person through this app, if you call and book it or book it online through glen oaks website it's 41 dollars plus tax. Why the heck is this app trying to make 30 dollars just for booking through the app?
Hard to play the first time
Course is quirky. A lot of blind shots, heavily sloped fairways. Need to know the course to play well.
Golf day
This golf courses, beautiful the staff was friendly very good price point I would highly recommend if you’re visiting the Louisville area and wanna golf
Unexpected for Country Club
Driving by I thought it was a nice course. Made a tee time to try the course out to be shocked that it wasn’t as nice as I thought. Tee boxes were dried out with crab grass growing. Fairways had a lot of crab grass growing. Greens were in decent shape. The worst part of the round was having to skip the last two holes because of slow play and poor golf etiquette. Showed up to hole 10 with a group of 6 teeing off and eventually got to play through. Caught up to two older gentleman that I ended up pairing with because there was 3 other groups in front of them. 2 groups ended up passing us to go to the club house.
Great staff. Great value
Nice layout with interesting par 3s. Great value for the price. Course conditions are good but not excellent. Greens were a bit rough because of a Cicada issue. The course is a bit hilly with some large carries. Staff is great and they even give you a free beer per round!
Good course if you have the time.
Started my round at 12:30 and stopped at the turn for 20 minutes for food. At 5:00pm we only made it to hole 16 because of the bottleneck on the back 9. Clubhouse staff was pleasant.
Hornets!!
Ground hornets had made several mounds all over the greens. I know people say they won’t hurt you, but they are big and flying all around you while you’re trying to put over and around their holes and mounds. Will not be back until the Hornets are gone!
Phenomenal Staff
We thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. The entire staff did a phenomenal job with their level of customer service.
Great semi-private course
The course is surrounded by trees and nice homes. Bunkers, driving range and bathrooms need a bit of attention. The starter Bob was superb - friendly and helpful.
5.5 hours
Course was fine. The pace of play was absolutely brutal. No starter on the the first hole. No rangers on the course. And, I do not think anyone was holding others up I think it's just that slow out there. Holes and course conditions were fine. a few rugged tee boxes. But, it's hard to recommend at that pace. Scorecard says 4.5 hours which I can handle but 5.5 is pretty unacceptable.
Amazing track with woods and 8 ft. waterfall
This looks like a residential development course, but much of it runs through woods. Hilly, with creeks, and secluded views. Difficult and interesting greens, that rolled at medium pace. Nice range and practice green. Best of not crowded so we played unobstructed and fast.
In bad shape
Course was not in good condition at all. Tee boxes were bald. Fairways weren’t clean with many weeds. Greens had insect holes in multiple greens and also weren’t in great shape. Not water coolers on the entire course wasn’t great either, especially with it being in the mid 90s the day we played. Course is tough and could be very nice but it was in absolutely terrible shape. Group in front of us had someone get stung multiple times by hornets. Overall bad experience
I believe they are actually Cattle bees and not hornets. Hornets swarm, these will not. They are intimidating but are not known for stinging.
