Rocky Point was rocky
The golf was in very good shape and the staff was excellent. Played in a large outing that went extremely well.
The condition of the building was disgusting. It needs to be power washed immediately. The entire building is covered with all kinds of bad stuff. The large leather chair need the pro shop was torn in several places with the foam stuffing coming out. The golf was very good, everything else needs work.
Rocky Point
Rocky Point is a great value course. You get some nice views of the Bay at a reasonable cost. The front 9 is pretty basic and nothing special, but the back 9 is excellent. Never had any major issues here with pace of play. I wish they would add a restaurant to the course as there's not many food options here. Obviously, the golf is the only reason to come here though. And for the price, this course can hold its own with the many found in Ocean City.
Nice course, ruined by rude employees
I play at this course because it’s the closest course to my house.
If you can get past the cocky , rude and unprofessional pro shop.
And then deal with rangers who think they are state cops , you should be fine . Lol
Nice Round
A great day for golf. Course conditions were good and pace was great.
Great Day at Rocky Point
Weather was perfect, pace of play was excellent and the rangers left everyone to their own. Other golfers were also enjoying a perfect day.
Good Day
Green are getting better, always a nice day at Rocky Point.
Rude staff. Ridiculous pace of play.
Rangers and staff are rude. Regardless of groups around you they are continuously reminding you about pace of play...even when there are people standing waiting in front of you. Must’ve been told to watch my time 10 different times, yet had to wait on every tee and approach shot.
Rangers would leave walkie talkies on full volume while patrolling and during your swing. Go play somewhere else.
Rude Rangers
Had a very bad experience with rangers overseeing timers on the carts. Tell you not to tee off until the group ahead is on the green but when your group falls behind the timer the rangers act like you're doing it on purpose. Very rude and not helpful. You better hit it where you can find it or you'll fall behind or suffer the wrath of the Rude Rangers. How about helping a group get back on track instead of everyone breathing down your neck and standing around reporting on your walkie talkies? Mark balls for a few shots and help with a few tips instead of intimidating newer players. Certainly not a good way to get repeat business. No apologies either. Don't play here unless you are a good player. Amateurs are not welcome!! Have talked to several other players who feel the same way.
On the Bay
10 and 11 hole overlook the Chesapeake Bay. Nice course to play under hot weather conditions as their is usually a nice breeze off the Bay.
Well kept wide open fairways, nice greens.
While playing a round recently our group not only had every ranger breathing down our necks but even had the shop "pro" come out to tell us we were not playing fast enough. All but the first ranger were very rude about how they approached us. It made for a very unpleasant round of golf. We had every one of them standing around as if we were doing something wrong. They literally were within sight for at least 12 of the 18 holes we played. Checking our timers at every hole! We are not scratch golfers but we are very courteous and aware of the time. We did end up finishing about 10 or 15 minutes behind the timer which I don't think is a big deal. Not enough of a big deal to warrant such treatment by the staff at Rocky Point. Maybe they should only have golfers of a certain caliber play at Rocky Point and make it known that if you don't play fast enough they don't want you playing there. Maybe they could have helped us get caught up instead of making us feel like we were not welcomed.
This course is by far the best overall value in the area. I cannot remember playing a course with such a nice course layout along with such excellent conditions for the price.
