Classic New England Golf
I am a member at Framingham CC, the round cost includes guest rate and cart. This is a private course but I would encourage anyone to join if they're local or play with a friend who is a member. FCC is a gem of a course that deserves more recognition. The layout is very difficult. This is a shorter course that has several driveable par 4's and some par 5's that can be easily reached in 2 by longer hitters. However, the penalty for missing on these holes is severe. The rough is long and thick and can eat a tee shot whether you know exactly where it landed or not. Fescue is strategically placed to punish misses to the right and 14 of 18 holes are lined completely by OB stakes and woods for anything left. This course is designed to punish long hitters with low accuracy and long hitters with poor distance control. A long approach shot will have a serious impact on scoring on all but 3 holes. The course is narrow to discourage driver use on short par 4s to the point where poor placement in the fairway can result in tree interference on approaches. The greens are in immaculate condition and are extremely fast with significant undulation. Being above the hole on certain holes, even in regulation, can be a guaranteed 3 putt or worse if the first putt isn't in. 14 in particular requires being below the hole in order to make anything less than 6 (double bogey) if the first putt isn't in.
All this being said - this course is a pleasure to play at. The staff are fantastic and the member group is friendly and accepting. While the course is challenging, it is rewarding to play here. Lowering your handicap at FCC allows you to go and score very well at some of the more forgiving courses in the area. The course is a true test but if you can score here, you can score anywhere.
Monday match
Got the good fortune to be invited out to play this really great Country Club!! Tee boxes , fairways and greens all in fantastic shape. Really enjoyed # 1, 9 ,13 and 18. This is a classic New England club that if you get the opportunity to play make sure u do.
Fantastic Course, Classic New England Layout
For a true New England feel in a private course atmosphere Framingham CC is the place for you. We won our foursome in an auction and it was a fantastic experience. With rock-ledge lined fairways and firm fast greens this was a true test of New England golf. The course was in incredible condition. The fairways, tee boxes and greens were perfect and the bunkers, which we were told were just worked on, were perfect. I can not say enough good things about Framingham CC. It has certainly vaulted into my top ten courses played in Massachusetts and I have played over 60 of them.
Excellent Private Club with a great golf course and amenities
The course is excellent, in great shape, the greens were rolling beautifully and the staff is great.
