Wonderful Old School Course
Could not disagree with the previous review more. I love the layout and the greens are wild and blast to play. This is what I would expect from a course that is half Alex Findlay and half Ralph Barton.
If you want a subdivision golf course where everything is right in front of you and obvious don’t come here. If you want a classic course with great greens and a unique layout play CC of Greenfield.
Layout
Layout is very poor. Greens from other holes next to our fairway. Fairways run so close together and shoot across cartpaths. Very dangerous. Working train coming as we had to cross tracks. Confusing layout. Slow greens.
Great "Old Style" Course
Excellent layout. Great mixture of challenging and easy holes that make you use all of the clubs in your bag. The day we played a near tornado blew through with horrible winds and blinding rain. We waited it out and the course was just not playable after the storm. They gave us a rain check for a full 18 even though we had completed 9 holes. Excellent service by the staff. This is a "must play" in western Massachusetts.
okay course
Very awkward setup to the course. Fairways were in okay shap, not great and the course has a lot of hills. Also, at the time it looks like there was some kind of construction going on for the rail road that cuts through the course. I won't hold them to that but that was quite annoying for me.
Close to thurway
Great price for 18 with a cart. Course was in good condition minus 9th hole which was very wet. I have a feeling that if they have a dry spell the rest of the course would not be good to play due to being to dry. Greens were true. Nice lay out. Would recommend to take a cart. They should have signs on where to go next. Could be very confusing.
great shape
the course was in great shape. greens were about 10 on the stump. The golf cart was in poor shape. Questionable whether we would make the full 18 in the cart. We managed to finish without braking down.
greens rolled nicely
arrived to find 'we don't have tee times on weekdays". I had to pair myself with others on the first tee 9potentially awkward). Course is a nice, old New England layout. Small greens, hard to hold, but if you hit the green you have a chance to make a good score. A couple of holes had issues (9th fairway looked like the aftermath of a flood), but there is room to hit away. Enjoyed the walk.
Classic Old Time Course
Really nice track in a classic style. Some short holes that challenge you off the tee. Will return.
