Winter Golf
Just fortunate a local course is open in January. Tough weather with 35 mph winds and just about 33 degrees but still grateful stow north keeps the doors open for die hard golfers whom want to itch the bug sort of speak. The range is also open which is important when the temps are less than favorable to avoid an injury before a round. The staff is welcoming and the grounds crew puts the work in to ensure the following season is upgraded from the previous year.
Stow acres (south course)
Good conditions for fall/ pre winter golf. The greens were exceptional. The course in in the process of adding a covered range as well as a few on course alterations. The price was great due to the fact that GN/Golf Pass has plenty of incentives. Good experience all in all.
Golf at Stow Acres South course
Early November golf with my wife ! We chose to walk. Starter allowed us to play back nine so we would play alone. We had a blast, there were a couple of holes with leaves but that was to be expected. The lay out was challenging, and hilly but the weather was in the high sixties low seventies. We finished in under two hours. Great day ! We hadn’t played there in a while , we had a blast .
Great Course
Friendly staff and a very well maintained course. Greens were near perfect.
Poor course conditions
Before I make this place sound bad I need to point out that I booked round to be able to play with my friend who was already set to play here at specific time. The staff was great; one of the best I have encountered in the many courses I have played and the layout was great; challenging but played to my draw. My issue is that rate was full price. I learned once on North course that half the holes were sold to a developer and as a result you could tell they have not been taking care of these holes; most of the fairways had a lot of bare spots and bunkers were awful! Full rate based on this seems wrong to me but I want to finish that due to staff good chance I may try the south course some day.
Paradise Lost
Growing up in this part of Massachusetts, Stow was always considered a premier public course. Boy, has that changed. The golf carts are falling apart, fairways are spotty at best, tees are mostly dirt and the cart paths are downright dangerous. My wife and I now live in Florida and looked forward to playing a quality New England golf course. What a disappointment.. The North course is worse than the South course. I am sorry for this lousy review but it’s obvious Stow needs an infusion of capital and a good grounds keeper.
Stow South
Had great round. Weather was right in the zone. Really put my irons to the test on fairways. Lots of tricky shot angles on doglegs and sloping tee to green shots. I enjoyed the variety of shots created by the course layout.
Course is ok, needs some work
Tee boxes need some work, some of the greens also need some work, one of the workers stated the south course is in better shape
Challenging Course Played The South Course
Challenging course , greens are in great shape with some difficult breaks. The rough grass was long , only thing that wasn't great was the cart had issues and had to exchange on the turn but otherwise a great course. I would definitely go back.
Stow acres golf course.
Tea time.
Was on time. The course was in excellent condition. The greens were rolling very smooth
and looking very good.
