Great quick course
We went here for a day date. As soon as we walked in we were impressed with the clubhouse/restaurant/event center. The owners were great and they have invested a lot into sprucing this course up. It would be fun to hang out here even in the off season. Food was great with lots of TV’s.
The course was short but challenging. Sprinklers were under repair this year throughout the course so fairways were a little dry this time of year , but the greens were nice. You can really tell they are working to turn this into a nice course. Can’t wait to see what it’s like next year. We will definitely be back.
1 Hour Tee Time Delay and Won’t Honor Pricing
I booked a tee time for Labor Day morning at 11:32 through GolfNow as a Hot Deal. I have done this once at this course before. I show up for my tee time only for them to ask me to pay more because the pricing was wrong and not the “holiday” pricing. I denied to pay more as I drove 30 minutes for a cheaper game of golf at a less busy course. The owner refused to honor my pricing and then stated even if we did agree on something that he wouldn’t be able to get me a cart until 12:25. The entire time I was waiting nobody was on hole number 1 or 2 playing or teeing off. The owner said he would call a golf now rep and come back. He came back 20 minutes later at 12:00pm and asked me “what did you come up with?” This course is not going to succeed with the way their owner handled this situation, especially for a course lacking in playing conditions and trying to make a turnaround. I do not recommend anyone to come back here as he burned a bridge with me. Not being able to honor online pricing that was paid in full and tee time being almost 1 hour behind. His response to that was “I can’t control the golfers dude. What do you want me to do?” Do not come here
Good could be great
The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to walk me through the course layout. The course conditions were ok but with some small upgrades could be great. Carts needed updated or new ones all together and the tee boxes where overgrown or burnt out no in-between. All that being said the club house looked great and the course played in an enjoyable and interesting way. I will be back and I'll recommend others for a quick round
Great 9 hole course under improvement
They have definitely put time into improving the facilities and course. Very technical and narrow fairways, they recently installed new sprinklers from. The look of things as well!
Greens need work
The course was nice. Very hilly. The greens were in poor condition some were mostly dirt
Nice layout…
Its short but challenging. Staff were nice and we really enjoyed it.
Nice 9 hole course
Booked same day - went and played 9. The course was really nice. Pretty early in the season. Under new management. Some holes were straight and simple. Others had a dog leg to them, small drop offs, etc. It was a good time. I’ll definitely be back
So Much Fun!!
First off I’m 48 from Monroe Mi bought my 21 year old son clubs for his birthday he’s been talking about playing again. I bought him jr clubs when he was about 8 & they fit him til he was 12 & he hasn’t hit a ball since. Except for the narrowness of the course couldn’t have been a better course for him to start back up on. It’s a definite shot makers course & they are working on it. With side hill, downhill & uphill lies I usually I play on flat courses being where I’m from. My son lives in Clinton I picked him up 12 mins to the course. Formerly being Irish Hills G.C, it’s the exact opposite of what I’m used to you don’t find courses like this anywhere else around. also what a pleasant surprise a gentleman started mowing on 9 as soon as we started on 1 making it look so beautiful for me & my son being we were the only people on the course. We will be getting a membership here for next year what a wonderful experience we couldn’t have had more fun! Highly recommended
Casual Golf Reviews
The Gauci Golf Resort is a nine hole layout located in the Irish Hills area of southern Michigan. This course offers some of the most scenic views I’ve ever seen. A lot of elevation changes which create blind tee shots into small landing areas. The course is a lot of fun to play with almost every tee shot having you weigh the risks and rewards.
Overall Rating 8.5/10
Conditions 5/10
Right now as is I would give this course a five out of 10. I think given time it’ll come around and be in really nice condition it’s just not quite there yet. The greens are in pretty rough shape and could use work but the potential is there.
Friendliness 10/10
I talked with the new owner he seems like a great guy seems to really care and wants to do a good job with the course. He’s only been in ownership for four months so with time I think this could be a special place.
Returnabilty 10/10
I’m really glad I played here I’ll definitely be back. Some local knowledge would be beneficial for next time.
Cost 9/10
$12 to walk 9, at the higher end but not too bad.
Tough course
Better be straight on this course. Not long but crazy fun layout.. Will definitely hit it again
Fun Quirky 9 Hole Course
Played the course on a whim while driving through the area. It’s a short funky 9 hole course that just made me smile throughout the round.
Tight course
New owners. Course is being worked on. Can't wait to play next year and see what's been done to the course!
