Horrible
Had a game on Saturday and of all days of the week they decided to aerate the coarse. No heads up or nothing. Piles of dirt on fairway greens were destroyed. Stupid GPS shutting down on path saying reverse only to close to green and we're not even close. Worse day of golf ever.
One of Michigan’s Best Public Courses
One of the best public golf courses in Michigan that is usually on the best in states list. If not, it’s a list you should ignore. Great Art Hills course that has a superb layout the plays over hilly terrain, plays around marshes and through the wooded terrain.
A course that should be sought out for memorable round.
Arthur Hills Strikes Again
This was a tough but fun track with some very undulating greens. Typical Arthur Hills set up. Some greens were a bit torn up, but it is late in the season. Looking forward to a return visit next year in slightly warmer weather. Course knowledge / familiarity goes a long way here.
Enjoy the cut through the pine forest.
This is a beautiful but tough course.
Don’t worry about your score, just play the game as it unfolds..
Enjoy the beauty & play your best. I am an average golfer who enjoys different & unique courses.
This one with different elevations & some really tough decisions to make on certain holes was very challenging to me.
Some really curvy & downhill cart paths are very interesting.
Bring a few extra balls for sure.
Try this course out it is truly well worth it for the fun in a course.
Good to be back
Played the course a year ago and the greens were unputtable. They are back. This the Red Hawk I’ve known save what happened last year. Layout considered, when this course is well-conditioned, it really ranks up there with the top courses in the state.
Bucket list course
My rate was discounted based on stay and play at Lakewood Shores ( play all 4 great value) and during the week. As kid I have vacationed in this area for number of years. I can tell you I never knew there was this kind of evaluation change. This rivals anything you will find on the west side of state. You have the ability to score and get in trouble. It is not exceptionally long. We played gold/white combination and it was all the course we wanted to play at slope around 132 (gold 135/white 127). I can highly recommend playing this course. Excellent GPS units on the carts that yardages were spot one. Tested few with my scope with no difference ended up putting scope back in the bag.
Great Course!
Played twilight, so the rate and pace of play was great. Really liked the layout and it was quite hilly for this part of the state. The gps on the carts are as up to date as you can get at any course in the country. The course was in great shape. A must play if you are in the area.
Great greens!
The greens are fast and deceiving. I must have had 4 3-putts because I missed a double break. The course has beautiful scenery and you seldom ever see another hole from the one that you're playing.
A beautiful challenge
Red Hawk is always on our groups play list when we go down each July. I have played in 3 times now and each time has been a different playing experience. The first time I played real well, and the others so so. However, each time the course delighted.
Fairways and greens have always been in great shape.
Don't expect to walk this course. It is VERY hilly (nice views though) and there are some long stretches between a few holes.
It is off the beaten path but it is well worth the journey!
